A 2nd hand EBS Multicomp - compression is a subtle 'effect' but it'll just make everything sound better

Up for sale is my Mayones custom shop be4, it was built for me in 2009 and I specced EMG active single-coils and an Aguilar OBP-3 pre-amp rather than the stock Bartolinis. The body is amazaque, the neck mahogony and the fretboard, rosewood. I'm selling as I've moved into a flat and just don't have space for everything, so it's time to downsize and this one's been sat in it's hardcase since November It sounds tight and punchy, but with all the low end you'd need - I tend to think of it as a cross between a Warwick and a Spector, or a modern jazz bass. It sounds great for metal - no more getting lost in the mix! I also used it for a modern prog band where it also sounded great and would definetly suit other rock, funk, jazz and modern pop players. I recorded all the songs on the below Myspace link using it: www.myspace.com/echovirus It's currently set-up in B-Standard with a fairly fresh set of GHS Bass Boomers, but obviously this is something the local guitar shop could easily sort out for you. It comes with a branded Mayones hardcase with Schaller secrurity straplocks and all the case candy - manual, allen keys etc I'm looking for £695.00 for it, or the best offer; the cash would be preferable, but I'd consider a trade for the one of the below: G&L L2000 USA Lakland Skyline Bob Glaub Fender USA Precision / Jazz Fender CIJ Precision / Jazz + cash Stingray 4 I'm not in any rush to sell, as though I haven't got any room for it at the moment my parents are kindly looking after it, let us know if you want more photos from any other angles.

School boy errors at gigs - my worst was last night
Graham replied to Cat Burrito's topic in General Discussion
Just remebered one, I do occasional dep work for a covers band and hadn't done a gig with them for a couple of months, went through the set-list a few days before but didn't bother practicing Buck Roges by Feeder thinking 'piece of piss, no need to rehearse that'. Come the gig I then play the verse in G minor rather than major and it's not until the second chorus that I clock why it didn't sound right........ -
School boy errors at gigs - my worst was last night

Biggest gig I've done - open air to 2-3k people, forgot to leave my amp on standby; fortunately it's a solid state so didn't need ages to power up, but the first 5-10 seconds of 'big jam intro' were rather quiet on the low frequencies. Also, as above with plugging in pedals the wrong way round, I keep getting my FX send and return mixed up and every time I swear to myself I wont do it..... -
SORTED -- Bassist Wanted - covers band Essex area
Graham replied to Grunfeld's topic in Bassists Wanted
I suspect this is just too far to make it viable for me (I'd probably spend £20-30 a gig on petrol to those places from East Sussex) which is a real shame as those set-lists look like great fun. Let us know if you need another dep anytime though -

I was having a discussion with the wife to be the other day over the correct pronunciation of Lakland, I always assumed it was 'Lake-land' (no e, but an accent over the a) but she thought it was 'Lack-Land' and she's normally better at these sorts of things than me - anyone now the answer? Also Wal, is it pronounced like one of those things that hold a roof up or differently? My mate reckoned it was 'wahl' but that doesn't look right to me.

MIJ P bass pickup has weak output: replacement options?
Graham replied to franzbassist's topic in Bass Guitars
I love the Lindy Fralins in my Lakland, they just sound like a precision should, however i can't say if they're any better than any others so not a lot of help there i know. I'm also very keen to try Bare Knuckle's '58 and '65 P pickups -
I'm after a hardcase for my Lakland Duck Dunn or G&L L2000 depending on which I'm using - so simple traditional shapes - I've been looking at Hiscox's STD EBS or Gator's GPE-Bass-TSA is either particularly better than the other? Or is there not much between them? Or, is there another I've not considered? Hiscox http://www.gak.co.uk/en/hiscox-std-ebs/3087 Gator http://www.thomann.de/gb/gator_gpe_bass_tsa.htm Cheers, Graham
