1. I personally prefer the dark chocolate nutty magnums and, using Nigel Tufnell as my model (I forget the Spinal Tap bass players name) I shall continue to dazzle the assembled ladies......your all just jealous!
2. I usually wear a black 'wifebeater' to show off my muscular tattoed arms with either (depending on how saucy I feel) Black leather or black levi's or even tiger stripe combats. Trainers dont do it for me so its normally Hi Tech magnums or work boots. I will on occaision wear a bandana but am after some suitably cool headgear as I have no 'barnet'. This does not stop the women from finding me hot even though I am old!! I am a stud and a tart and I love what I do. Have you seen TM Stevens...? Now thats the way to dress!!
3. I had an early MIJ Jazz that was heavily modified and beaten to buggery which I stupidly sold during a mad moment. That bass was a part of me and I wish I could track it down and beg the guy to sell it back to me. Ive owned many nice basses over the years but somehow that one with all its dings and belt buckle marks and that worn thumb mark on the pickguard had to be the one.
4.
a bit of basic info about myself............. first picked up a bass about 20 years ago, played for about 4-5 years, gigging the last two of them. played mainly rock stuff with a plectrum and just got into slap before i drifted outta bass. out of the blue i decided to buy a bass and amp about 9-10 months ago and am glad i did, its my main hobby now and chills me out. play now with fingers and also slap.
Glad your back in the groove mate. Welcome
5. I have Al the fretless Jazz 'Frankenbass' named after my dear departed little brother and Bill my Precision special named after the great Mr Sheehan. Im currently awaiting the arrival of a Squier precision (that is getting a willpower dimarzio put in it ) for use as a backup. Suggestions for a name would be welcomed
6. Hey Youngie this is a cool place, have fun!
7. Yeah 43 years is a long time but still so much to learn. Its scary to see just how much young talent there is out there. Im still lovin it. With regards to the bushcraft stuff I wish it was simply team building stuff but its all child psychology which can be a bit....stressful. Its cool to just unload at a gig.

10. Greetings from sunny Weston super Mare and to all who were on the Bassworld site (my previous aka was Nikkidanjo) 'hello bass warriors' specially Rich Valentine! I represent the 'old git' spectrum here. Im 55 and Ive been playing for 43 years. Im currently in the Ben Fletcher band which is a progressive blues three piece. I play Fender Precision special (modded) and Fender Jazz frankenbass fretless (yes Rich I still have it and it sings)! Markbass LM2 thru 1x12 and 2x10 Bagg end spec home build cabs. For fx I use a Zoom b2 (for the tuner), Digitech whammy, Akai headrush (fun for solo loops). Im into Billy Sheehan, Doug Wimbish, Tony Levin, Jeff Schmidt, Lydia on bass....strewth there are loads! My 'day job' consists of teaching excluded schoolkids Ray Mears stuff (bushcraft skills tutor) which means I get to spend a good deal of time chopping down trees and lighting fires, skinning rabbits etc: Check out the Ben Fletcher site for the giglist come see me make a fool of myself.
