9.
Due to a change of circumstances I am putting 'Pinky and Perky' up for sale or trade. 'Pinky' is a superbass Mk2 manufactured in July 81, sporting ECC83 pre amp and Russian EL34's. Tolex is as you would expect for an amp this old torn in places but otherwise sound. Soft 'Marshall' cover included. I am looking for £450 'Perky' is a superlead Mk2 and last of the non master volume's produced in Nov 81. Sporting 12ax7 sovteks and unbranded ( I cant see a label) EL34's Tolex on this one is in excellent condition with a couple of minor tears. Soft 'Marshall' cover included. I am looking for £500 With channels linked this is one hell of a monster, most gigs with lead channel on one and a half and bass channel on four is tinnitus heaven!! Trades for either are welcome. I am looking for a nice 2x12 standalone 4 ohm cab capable of handling low B , SWR Bigfoot 2 or similar. Would consider similar spec 4x10 Im open for trades for the pair and would consider MB lm2+ cab or Hartke HA3500+cab I would rather not post so collection preferred or I will deliver within 100 mile radius of Weston super Mare.
No takers ?

11. Silly I know but have you checked your leads and Battery (if active).
12.
Hey mate! ;o) - Wow!! It's funny isn't it? Sometimes you find great tone in what would seem an unlikely configuration! - I absolutely love this little guitar combo over where my band writes material. It's a little Marshall box with a 8" speaker.. but set to distort a bit it sounds GREAT with my basses. I want it! lol I wouldn't mind seeing what it sounded like miked up. Talk about a short cut to gnarly bass tone ;o) Hope you are keepin' well n' everything!
Hello Dood I was expecting mush but got good clean tone up to earth shattering (in my house..oh dear), it did break up a bit with the superbass but not much. I suppose the combination of the EMG's and preamp plus the Eminence speakers helped. Im gonna try my superlead with linked channels, now that is a brute, and I bet I'll get clean up to (oh my God Ive broke the windows) level. Im torn between selling them both purely because of their unwieldy size and weight. Cant help imagining how they would sound on top of an SWR Bigfoot though..imagine two bigfoot 2's with a JCM 800 atop each..a stereo rig !! The Tobias is still singing and the defret has been beautifully done with boxwood blanks. Hows your band doing?
13. This week I jacked in the 3 piece rnb band I was in, feeling the need to do something a bit more creative. Looking at the rig I had been using my thoughts turned to selling up and buying new stuff in. Today I set up my 2x10 and 1x12 Bagend spec homebuilds with one of my two Marshall JCM 800 MK2's. Plugging in my Tobias Sixxer that I had recently defretted I thought..nah its gonna sound crap. Flip me was I wrong ! Oodles of valve tone and low b tightness. The only drawback is that it looks odd and is heavy as hell. Im confused now cos I was thinking of selling both and going for a nice standalone 2x12 to go with the MB lm2. Sorry peeps just thinking out loud ,has anyone had a similar experience ?
14. Im in the process of having my Tobias 6 done cant wait !
15. Check out Eric Czar on youtube (6string fretless bass)....plays with Joe Bonamassa.
16. Im 56 and have two jcm 800's and a 4x12 that I shift between 3 and 4 gigs a week. Get a trolley my friend.
17. That is freaking awesome ! Needs a more manly name tho, something like Blowtorch or Stellar deathray !
18. Same here but anything specific I can help with just ask.
19. Its a place to keep yer sandwiches.
20. I boil and change them every 3 gigs. I use Rotosound RB40 nickel on stainless mediums (even though they wont give me an endorsement).
21. My Tokai went into my luthier for a setup. He had a Gibson Thunderbird there also. He told me that the Tokai was better made than than the Gibson. Mine plays nice and I have no complaints. Ive never compared it to an Epiphone but during my internet travels it seems that the Epiphone Goth is good bangs for the buck. Played a Gibson in Hartnolls Plymouth and fell totally in love. Lightweight with action and sounds to die for. Cetera has an old Epiphone Goth that I was going to buy for a Fenderbird project but sadly I had to shoot through due to home strife. Why not give him a buzz. All the best on your quest.
22. Hmmmm.... Gibson EB3 (60's) Gibson Thunderbird 'Fenderbird' Stingray Yamaha Attitude

(couple of months now) Based in Bristol (UK) Could do with a lesson or two to check I'm going in the right direction. ( don't want to get bad habits etc.) Any tuition in the Bristol area, south side, would be good.
Hey jc welcome to BC ! Im a baldy old backstard living in Weston super mare and would be happy to give you some time. Where abouts in Bristol do you live?

Waiting for a light bulb moment?
ROFLMAO.....I'll have you know thats a solar panel mate. We may look a trifle eccentric but we still got it goin on! As to his bass, its beaten to buggery. I had a good look but cant remember the name on the headstock.
