1. I like "Stop Me" and "Ask"
 2. I think everybody should just stop rising to him, he'll soon get bored
 3.
Try these guys, https://www.facebook.com/Hereticpromotions They run most of the metal night at this place http://scruffymurphys.co.uk/ in Birmingham. About the best place in the west midlands for metal gigs.
I was going to say that place, I played there last November. It was a good gig, but somebody had been sick in the staff toilets before we got there so all I could smell was vomit while we played
 4. I wouldn't say my choices sum my style up because I steal little tricks and techniques from almost everything I listen to The Stone Roses- Turns Into Stone and a load of assorted Beatles songs because that's what got me interested in playing
 5. For anyone who's interested, I just picked up my bass from Back Alley Music in Chester and their luthier Matt Bascetta has done a brilliant job installing the jazz pickup and concentric pots Here's a few pictures
 6. Not me, I put it on series link since Challenge started showing it again. I don't care what anyone says, I quite like Jim Davidson on that programme and John Virgo's fruity waistcoats make me chuckle.
 7. I had someone shouting "You're sh*t" after every song at an outdoor gig last August, so I took the mic and said "Well you can always f**k off and stop spoiling it for everyone else, can't you?" The rest of the crowd just laughed at him, so he sat down and kept his mouth shut afterwards until we were packing up, when he came over and said "You're not really sh*t" What a strange man...
 8.
'Cause it's the usual arpeggiated math-rock fayre that anyone not on the autism spectrum would ignore as a stuck-CD.
9. I bought one in November, the truss rod hole was rounded off and rusty, it didn't come with a manual, allen keys or a gig bag. I returned it to Dawson's and the replacement came with an allen key that was too small to adjust the truss rod, but that one came with a manual.
 10. I have a set of silk free GHS bass boomers, could be those?
 11. GHS Pressure wound because I like how they feel, but I also put GHS flats and rounds on my other bass depending on what I fancy at the time
 12.
I saw a lesbian punk band in Oxford years go, and after what I suspect had been a lifetimes commitment to going bra- less, the very sturdy girl on bass could have worn her thunderbird like Peter Way and still got tangled up! Scariest audience I've ever seen too!
brilliant
 13. I use a Boss ODB-3 for overdrive, but I rarely use it. It's still nice to have it there when I need it though.
 14.
Nearly right, but also, very wrong.
I know, a green scratch plate, how tacky.
 15.
Probably... i can't be the first to think of it, can i?
This one's almost right http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3200/2797708672_b404929f0e.jpg
 16.
Ah, that makes more sense now! 'twill sound good!
Hopefully, got a two week wait though before I find out. Your idea sounds interesting, I wonder if it's been done before?
 17.
eh... why is it costing that much? i thought market price for a decent one would be around £50, and a pretty good one about £70...
£50 for the pickup, £106 for the routing, wiring and the new concentric knobs
 18.
Down-side though, they are £30! (Yikes!) I think i might cover knights of cydonia tomorrow with them. Which also got me thinking... what if i made a jazz bass with a MM style humbucker in between the 2 jazz pickups?
Then you'd better start saving up, I'm having a jazz pickup installed on my precision which is costing me £156
 19. Reminds me of this http://youtu.be/ClcwKgxu2wk
 20.
em, shall i? ...
Yeah they die a lot quicker than rounds, but that could be the sulphuric acid that my hands seem to excrete
 21.
I put them on the jazz. they sound good. mmmm
And in a few weeks you'll have a nice set of flats
 22.
I put on the album californication and played my way through most of it, with a couple of improvised soloy parts. I was pretty proud of myself. Also got a set of half round bass strings, and a set of round wounds. Somebody, please tell me if i should put the half rounds on the jazz bass? Tell me, should i put the half rounds on the jazz bass? Tell me, "Put the half rounds on the jazz bass"!
Put the half rounds on the jazz bass, I've done it before and it sounded good
 23. How do I find out my bass skill level?
 24. Anybody got any more suggestions for pickups?
