1. Do any band members have a wife/girlfriend who; 1) Rings up very 5 minutes to find out what time you'll be home. 2) Will sulk when told the band won't be doing any Taylor Swift covers. 3) Comes to gigs, gets totally bladdered and then runs off crying because she's not the centre of attention. 4) Comes to gigs, doesn't get totally bladdered but thinks she's a backing vocalist in spite of sounding like a 3 a.m. cat fight.
2. I'd have made the slidy thing for her clothes and put all my music gear in the wardrobe. Hope she never finds this post - I'll be living in the shed for weeks.
3. I play in a rock covers band but my musical tastes are much wider than that. I love a bit of jazz funk, motown, blues, soul, prog etc. and play along to those genres given the opportunity.
4. Just got a Diago patch cable kit from them. Good service.
5.
Is the problem that "sloppiness" is a pejorative term? Santana plays in very free time on occasion, but "sloppiness" would be an excessively harsh judgement.
Same goes for one of my all time favorite guitarists Robin Trower. His style and sound are, in my experience, completely unique and what some would perceive as 'sloppiness' is actually a very refined style which gives bags of character to his playing.
6. I think it suits my character. I'm not a 'look at me' type at all and would rather lurk at the back but make a valid contribution. The others are more than welcome to show off and strut about but it's not for me. I remember hearing basslines like Leland Sklar on Stratus by Billy Cobham and thinking it was the absolute essence of a powerful piece of music and wanting to be able to play it.
7. Nobody makes me want to learn to play with a pick except Bobby Vega, and when I hear him I REALLY want to play with a pick.
8. I have no idea how he plays that stuff and sings at the same time. I'd love to hear him play different stuff as well since he has been pigeon-holed as a one trick pony which is way off the mark.
9.
What cab do you use Japhet?
Techsoundsystems ND 2x12. Must be full of helium.
10. Reading this thread has made me realise how much I miss lugging 1x15 and 4x10 cabinets about. I feel so inadequate now with my 20kg 2x12.
11. I've got Elixirs on mine. Bit pricey but sound great and supposed to last for ages.
12. Genz Benz Contour going cheap in the F/S section. Would fit the bill.
13. Met JJ Burnell once. He's a knob too.
14. Dancing in The Moonlight - Thin Lizzy (deserves a mention).
15. I prefer the sound of a barking dog at 3 a.m. to Roger Daltry.
16. We use a Tascam DR 05 and get very good results with it. Dead simple and we've got a decent live demo for next to nothing.
17. Our drummer uses a kick port (google it). Great bit of kit.
18. Is it any better than the Korg Pitchclip? I use one of these and it handles a low B fine and costs roughly 25% of the TC one.
19. Something like a Zoom B3 will keep you amused for hours and you'll find out what all the effects do for the price of 1 single, stand alone pedal.
20. 12 seconds! Some of you are such lightweights!
21. Does it cost you to rehearse? It usually does, so I'd view it as a good PR opportunity that costs a bit of rehearsal money.
22. Japhet

Best tuner pedal

Not had any experience of anything other than a Pitchblack but mine's been faultless for years.
23. The bagpipes and mandolin intro to Copperhead Road (Steve Earle). So much so that Mrs Japhet is getting me a mandolin for Christmas. Hope she dowsn't get me bagpipes for my birthday though.
