  1. Anyone who can't be heard is taking up space unnecessarily and taking money out of the pockets of the rest of you. If he can't be heard there's no point in him being there.
  2. You're perfectly within your rights to ask for the information. Charity accounts should be completely transparent. Having been involved in non-profit organizations, the amount of accountability can be absolutely massive. People are entitled to know what happens to their money.
  3. There are only 3 a's in Bananarama. One of them was called Siobahn but I can't remember who the other 2 were.
  4. Please remember that you are, after all, a mere bass player. You should be overjoyed that proper musicians have deemed you worthy to prop up their egos. Get a grip man!
  5. Deep Purple have recently reformed with members of Simply Red and Blue.
  6. My take on it has always been I play for nothing because I love it. I get paid to lug the gear around. Seems to work for me.
  7. Glockenklang or Vanderklay?
  8. Flea joined The Red Hot Chilli Peppers in desperation after he was evicted from Freddie Mercury's moustache. He had only recently moved there from Jimmy Sommerville's pubic hair.
  9. 3'2" post punk pretty boy Adam Ant now lives in a nest with former band members near Hemel Hempstead. The worker Ants can often be seen carrying Adams supplies above their heads in single file. In times of hardship they have been spotted as far afield as Tring and Aylesbury.
  10. James Blunt is very rude. When he met Kurt Cobain in a narrow corridor a 25 minute pushing tussle broke out since neither would let the other past.
  11. Lou Reed's real name is Jeremy Bean. He got the nick name 'Lou Reed' because he would often spend days on end reading back copies of 'Crochet Monthly' magazine on the toilet. The band name 'Velvet Underground' was inspired by the disappearance of his favourite brand of toilet paper after he flushed.
  12. Gary Barlow's Dad is Ken Barlow off Coronation Street. He was taught to play piano by his Mum, Pat Butcher when he used to live upstairs at the Queen Vic.
  13. Doctor John is not a Doctor at all. He's a Dentist.
  14. Flouncing, leather-clad, poodle-haired 70's Rock icons Foreigner were not allowed to play in their own country. By contrast, Boston were banned from playing in Boston and Kansas were banned from playing everywhere.
  15. Fender Rumble (new) or a Genz Contour (used) if you can find one.
  16. Leslie West and Nathan East were founder members of The Beautiful South. Rugby player George North wasn't in the line up.
  17. Freddie Mercury had a vast collection of barometers. The Corrs have a collection of 'top shelf' magazines. Jarvis Cocker collects porcelain spaniels Huey Lewis once fronted a current affairs programme in his native Middlesborough. Jools Holland isn't Dutch but can ride a bicycle none the less.
  18. If you have the budget for Barefaced I'd also check out Vanderklay cabs.
  19. Brian might but when I asked Imelda wouldn't. Moving on, Jazz Hobbit Jamie Cullem devotes much of his spare time to the extermination of badgers in the West Country.
  20. Ball of Confusion - The Temptations
  21. The words 'midi' and 'sync' are like kryptonite to me! I can barely work a mobile phone.
  22. I'm looking for a simple looper to use at gigs. My criteria are; has to be simple to use with a small footprint. Don't need anything at all fancy or complicated. So far I've spotted the TC Electronic Ditto and the Digitech Jam Man. Anyone have any advice - would be much appreciated before I go and buy something I don't get on with. Ta.
  23. A guy I know has been playing in Germany, Holland, Belgium etc for years doing the blues/rock circuit. He says it's the only way he can make a living. When he comes back to England he says he's really only playing for expenses and a bit of beer money. Sad indictment of how it is these days.
