Just been reading a different thread where 2 blokes are going at it about Trace Elliot SMX amps, and it reminded me that my 2 band EQ Stingray through my old 300SMX was an awesome combination. Sometimes you just need the right 2 elements. I'd have the old SMX back in a heartbeat, only it would likely mean dragging the old Stingray back out of retirement (where it went for preservation purposes).

I had the Digitech Drop but didn't think it was good enough to gig. Also had a Behringer US600 which did everything very well but suffered from severe latency, so much so that it too was un-giggable. The Digitech is (to my knowledge) considered about the best available, but I didn't think it was up to the job.

I'd say a lot of band members realise how hard it can be for the non 'star' members to carry on earning a living and are quite happy for them to continue using a band name and playing the old songs. It would be virtually impossible for many to start again from scratch. It's up to the punters to decide if they want to pay to go and see it or whatever.

One of the very best compressors I've ever had. Only moved it on in the quest for a smaller footprint pedalboard.
