    I use an old Line6 LD15 (think that's what it is) in my home office. Has an Aux In socket for whatever source you prefer, a headphone socket and the usual plethora of Line6 options for sounds and effects. Been a bit of a Godsend for me when I'm learning a load of stuff off Youtube or whatever and not wishing to drive Mrs J nuts.

    Stingray with 2 band eq and a John East preamp is a pretty damned aggressive sounding bass. I've played a Thumb which I found heavy and uncomfortable but sounded good. Never had the pleasure of a Wal though.

    I do like a volume control and a clean blend option on certain types of pedal.

    I like the Valeton stuff. Particular favorites of mine are the OC10 octaver which is a great copy of the Boss OC2 and top of my list is the FET Preamp pedal which just makes everything sound plump and lush. Hard to find now though.
