  1. A bit out of left field this one but a bassline that really caught my attention back in 1976. Later found out it was Chuck Rainey so no wonder it's a groove monster. Takes a while to build up but then really hits the sweet spot. Cracking album by the way.
  2. Little Red Corvette - Squiggle (formerly known as Prince)
  3. 100 guitar rigs are very 'old hat' now iny opinion. Marshalls in particular need to be cranked to get them singing and it's precisely because of this that they've developed 25-30 watt valve amps. Having said that, one of our previous guitarists played a Les Paul through a cranked Marshall Bluesbreaker combo (30 watt I think) a few times and it was deafening. I thought it sounded fine at lower volumes but he obviously didn't!
  4. Guitars can make a difference too. I always find that a loud Les Paul has a huge, fat sound that hogs a load of frequencies. The only success I've had with them is with guitarists that are prepared to stay out of my frequencies, but they are few and far between.
  5. Papa's Got a Brand New Bag - James Brown
  6. Have used Behringer gear for PA for ages now. Power amps, Graphic, Monitors, Feedback Destroyer etc.. Never had any problems with anu of it.
  7. 21st Century Schizoid Man - King Crimson.
  8. The one that has really blown me away is a lowly Valeton FET preamp pedal. It fattens everything up quite beatifully and makes every frequency sing. It is also a buffer so nothing goes missing in the chain. Think I paid £40 for it off ebay and that is a mega bargain. It can also make a Strat sound as big as a Les Paul.
