  1. Will probably get pelters for saying it, but just about any cover of any Bob Dylan song. Edit; I'm obviously not including the appalling version of Knocking on Heaven's Door by that kilt wearing pillock.
  2. I like the 3/1 headstock. Everything is within reach for tuning whereas a straight 4 configuration becomes a bit of a stretch for tuning (and I'm a tad under 6ft). A straight 5 headstock would mean I'd have to take the bass off an rest it on the floor in all liklihood. Not sure how short people would manage.
  3. I don't like Fender 5 strings because the 4+1 headstock looks all wrong to me. Don't like tortoise shell scratchplates and don't like natural wood finishes either, especially with flambuoyant wood grains and fussy designs.
  4. Pretty much, although it's all very subjective. Some manufacturers quote very high output watts but the amps don't deliver. You'll find a 200 watt valve amp can butcher many a 500 watt class d or solid state amp for sheer power. If you're hooking up to a single 8 ohm cab you'll most likely only be getting a bit over 50% of your amps power anyway since they mostly deliver full power at 4 ohms (2 cabs).
  5. I wouldn't call Rod Stewart a good singer either but what a great voice (especially with Jeff Beck and Python Lee Jackson).
  6. Played there a handful of times. Great venue. RIP King Billy.
  7. I'm not the least bit religious but Mrs J took me to see Hrry Christopher Sixteen in Cambridge (think it was St John's Chapel). it was quite an extraordinary experience that I'll never forget.
  8. Theme from an imaginary Western - Mountain.
  9. Here's one people may not have heard. The (in my opinion) incredible voice of Malford Milligan with Storyville.
  10. I've got one of these which I like.
  11. Years ago it would have been my Peavey MkVI. Absolutely bomb proof. Later on I had a Trace SMX 350 which was lovely. Now I have an Eden WT800 which is also lovely. Unfortunately, no gigs or any liklihood so all a bit academic really.
  12. Rockin' in the Free World usually does the trick.
  13. I've got a HB 2x12 guitar cab and it's a fantastic piece of kit. Got it off ebay for £120 and it's made out of proper plywood and loaded with Celestion Vintage 30s. Sounds great and goes silly loud. Presumably the bass gear is of similar quality and value.
  14. Velvet pouch you say................
  15. You'll lose a lot of versatiliy for sure. The MS60B isn't great for gigging unless you just want a 'core' sound or a particular patch when you want it. At least, that's my experience.
