  1. I'm going to add Bobby Vega to the list. The only bass player who has made me want to play with a pick.
  2. Probably not influential as such, but in my mind one of the greats is the very recently departed Juan Nelson. Another one who caught my ear at an early age and piqued my interest in all things bass was Tiran Porter.
  3. Get Down on It - Kool and the Gang
  4. Relax - Frankie Goes to Hollywood
  5. Now I'm Here - Queen
  6. Lip Up Fatty - Bad Manners
  7. Frankenstein - Edgar Winter Group
  8. Don't know really. Roll a fair bit of treble off I'd guess and don't use brand new strings is where I'd start. They sound like round wounds to me but without the zingyness of a new set.
  9. We Will Rock You - Queen
  10. Always loved Paul Denman's sound on Sade's stuff. One of the main reasons my first decent bass was a Stingray which I still have and probably always will.
  11. Milk and Alcohol - Dr Feelgood
  12. Minute by Minute - Doobie Brothers/Michael Macdonald.
  13. Shout to the Top - Style Council
  14. I Don't Like Mondays - Boomtown Rats
  15. Slither - Velvet Revolver
  16. Sweet Home Chicago - Every blues band ever
  17. Suggest a pitch correction pedal. Cheap solution and it might not cause world war 3.
  18. Houses of The Holy Since I've been Loving You The Lemon Song Ramble On
  19. Tiptoe Through the Tulips - Tiny Tim
  20. Good Year for the Roses - Elvis Costello
  21. 25 or 6 to 4 - Chicago
  22. Venus and Mars - Wings
  23. Alone Again Naturally - Gilbert O'Sullivan
  24. Roundabout - Yes
  25. Say Hello, Wave Goodbye - Soft Cell/ Marc Peanut
