    I've been listening carefully for some time now and I've heard lots of things but NOT Radio Ga Ga or Radio Goo Goo either. I'm also pretty sure Bono hasn't climbed Mount Everest as he claimed.

    I'd have to question Patrick Hernandez assertion that 'we were born to be alive' since there doesn't seem to be any real alternative.

    Great little amp for guitar. Clean channel is the same as the Roland Jazz Cube. Channel 2 has amp modelling from clean to high gain with titles like Acoustic, Clean, Blackface, Classic British, Metal etc. It then has a range of effects Chorus, Trem, Reverb, Phaser, etc.. It has an Aux In socket for any music source and a Headphone/Record socket so you practice without initiating divorce preceedings. It has plenty of volume too at 60W and has an extension cab socket too. It will take a foot switch for channel select as well. It's compact and easy to carry around. Check out a few Youtube reviews to see what it can really do. It's in very good nick with a few marks that would most likely clean off. I can post at your cost or I'm happy to travel a reasonable distance if needed. PM me if you need more details.

    Yes, I agree, Precisions are boring, but then so are buses, jeans and potatoes.

    Maude is right. Don't strip off anything that is in decent nick. Dings and dents can be repaired with car body filler. For small stuff I use a product called Dolphin Glaze which is a really fine filler. Repaired areas need a coat of primer and everything needs to be keyed so that the new paint has something to grip onto - if you don't do this it will flake off. To key the existing finish I use Scotchbrite pads and give it all a thorough going over. Feel free to PM me if you want any more info.

    I have more trouble learning and remembering the song structure than anything else, although having said that I'm perfectly capable of drawing a complete temporary blank on songs I've played hundreds of times.

    Listening to Cry of Love's album Diamonds and Debris (which I do quite often). Very short lived band with the amazingly talented Audley Freed on guitar. He's now playing with Sheryl Crow (and who wouldn't enjoy that?).

    James Brown didn't sound too shabby with 2 shed builders.

    Greco Les Pauls are very good. Worth a serious look if you can find one.

    On your cabs, I'd make sure that the 4x10 is also 4 Ohm. Wouldn't want to mix a 4 Ohm and an 8 Ohm cab personally since the power would be very unbalanced.

    I bought one of those cable tester gizmos and it's been a God send. Can test any type of cable, intrument leads, Speakon, mini jacks etc.. It lives in the gig bag and on the couple of occasions it was called into action it was perfect.

    At the end of the Live 8 gig, Waters looked elated and Gilmour looked like he'd had a bucket of fish guts tipped over his head. Waters made his own bed in all this and won't ever be accepted back. He seems deeply wounded by this but didn't have the same sensibilities when he was treating Rick Wright dreadfully for years and generally being a complete tool.

    I was depping once in a band with a notoriously outrageous front man and a woman came up and demanded Sex on Fire over the microphone. Tom, th frontman immediately responded with 'You get your knickers off and I'll see if I can find some matches'.

    Yes, the old 'of course you know it ............it goes la la la la la la la.........'. I think they think we can just play whatever we hear in our heads (although some obviously can).

    For my money, Waters was the creative force and the edge that made Floyd. I completely lost interest once he'd left and found just about everything they did turgid and bland. On the other hand, Waters comes across as a control freak with some fairly unpleasant character traits. Rick Wright was treated as a hired hand for decades. It's a shame that it all fell apart but not in the least surprising given the egos and natures of some of the characters involved.

    GP 12SMX was my favorite, and unlike many, I actually like the pre shape options too. As said previously, setting the preamp to just before it clips is good advice. Wish I still had mine in many ways. One thing they were prone to was a dodgy internal earth that could take out the whole amp. I'd advise getting that checked and improved if you find one.
