  1. I've always tuned low to high on the assumption that the heavier strings have more pull on the neck and therefore are more likely to have an effect on the other strings, so get them done first. Makes sense to me but I'm ready to be shot down in flames.
  2. PM's answered. Pics added.
  3. There are artists who have passed me by for the simple reason that I wouldn't know where to start, Ry Cooder is a prime example. Others I've heard a bit and didn't like (e.g.Bob Dylan, Miles Davis). There are other artists who blow hot and cold for me but I do listen to the stuff that I like and filter out the rest, like Jeff Beck, who i think is a genius who often pushes the envelope a bit too far for me.
  4. Don't get me started on her. The only 'interviewer' I know (i use the term loosly) who asks a guest a question and then shrieks over their answer to express her own half baked opinion.
  5. My Mrs has radio 2 set on the alarm and whilst I can safely say that Evans blabbering on first thing in the morning was akin to torture for me, listening to Zoe Ball makes me want to throw myself out of the bedroom window. My God she spout some rubbish.
  6. Ed Sheeran seems to have done OK via the BBC without the 'grime' connection or troubled past (although I think he may have referenced nicking a bottle of his Mum's sherry in one of his songs).
  7. No idea why I bothered reading that since these 'best' lists are always utter botox.
  8. Broughton High Pass Filter now SOLD.
  9. I recently discovered that when an Ebay item's location is advertised as 'Middlesex', that is actually Middlesex - half way up the Yangtze river.
  10. Unused battery powered mini amp. Has delay and distortion and also line in for Mp3 etc and a headphone socket. Never used it for more than about 10 minutes. Postage (UK) included.
  11. All prices include UK postage. I have some boxes but not all. I can supply photos (if you insist) but pedals will be as described and all have been looked after. Most have Velcro underneath. Pedals will be well packaged and sent by Post Office. YouTube reviews aplenty for this lot. Aguilar Filter Twin. Has independent up and down sweeps which you can blend as desired. Great envelope pedal but I don't play anything where I need it these days. SOLD Broughton High Pass Filter. Cut out all of the inaudible low frequencies that suck the power out of your rig with no benefit. Mini sized pedal. Same as a Thumpinator really. SOLD One Control Mosquite. Blender with buffer. Add dry signal into your effects board at whatever level you like. Also can be used to buffer your signal chain. Works a treat. £75. G Lab Bass Wowee Wah. Foot operated wah for bass. Best I've ever heard. Has original box. Check Marlowe's review on YouTube. SOLD. Keeley Bassist. Fantastic compressor/limiter. Not sure about letting this one go. SOLD Chowny Fuzzster. Cracking fuzz pedal with a wide range of sounds and dry blend. Check out Scott Whitley's review on YouTube. SOLD. Mooer Hustle. OCD drive clone in mini housing. Great little pedal for peanuts. SOLD. Mooer Fog. Mini sized fuzz with a max sized sound. SOLD. One Spot Power supply. Power up a few pedals for next to nothing. SOLD ADIOS AMIGOS!
  12. The perfect example of 'Be careful what you wish for'.
  13. I used a Genz Neox 2x12 for some time with a Streamliner head when I swapped from a Trace SMX amp and cabs and it sounded really good and not dissimilar. There's one in the F/S section you could check out as well. Really good bit of kit.
  14. It definitely catches up on you as the years roll by. It never used to bother me one jot if we played a lot of gigs with late nights and long journeys but it isn't like that any more. I'm not much use the following day now and if it's a ball breaker of a gig it takes me a few days to get over it. No way I'm throwing in the towel though.
  15. Don't believe a word of it. I now gig regularly with a Harley Benton bass and a load of cheapo pedals and it all works and sounds just fine and dandy.
  16. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! Now I can't unsee any of that.
  17. I use Diago Patchfactory. Not had a single problem with them. I bought a cheapo solderless kit off ebay which was complete garbage and went in the bin. If I can I use straight cable-less connectors from pedal to pedal.
  18. Some basses don't lend themselves to wall hangers. Obviously headless basses, but Telebasses aren't a good idea either with the thin headstock. The cut of the headstock can also make the bass want to hang to one side.
  19. Everybody has something that pulls their musical puke trigger. For me it's the pseudo operatic wailing of Bruce Dickinson and the like.
  20. My Mrs. has always been a big Pink Floyd fan. She'll happily tell anyone who will listen how she used to sit on the stage or wander around half empty pubs listening to them back in the 60s. She'll also happily tell you that the sound was always crap, they would shuffle on and play meandering pshycedelic nonsense for ages and then wander off again with no audience interaction whatsoever and that they would spend the whole time staring at their feet. It would often be 20 minutes in that it would dawn on you that this was actually the gig and they weren't still tuning up.
  21. 12 bar in A Bb B C C# D Eb E F F# G G# - sorted.
  22. I had the old Ashdown 4x8 600 watt cab years ago. Bought it for peanuts with seized drivers. Totally oblivious to the complexities of cabinet design I bought 4 150 watt Celestion drivers from Blue Aran, bunged them in, hooked up the wiring and gigged happily with it for the next 4 years. Always sounded fine and never missed a beat. Ignorance can apparently be bliss.
