There's only one of the Pawn Shop range that I like, and it's not even a bass:

Yuck! Because I'm using my work computer, a lot of pictures wont load up if they've been posted using Photobuckets and the like, so I had to do a wee Google search to find a picture. Needless to say, I was really disappointed, I was hoping for something like the old Squier Supersonic:

Mark McK. .
I thought the term 'lawsuit' referred to Gibson and Fender suing companies from the far east for making unlicensed copies of their designs? For example the old Tokais and Fernandes were identical to vintage Fenders and Gibsons end even had headstock logos based on those of the companies they were ripping off. I didn't think lawsuit referred to instruments that were just good instruments?

Is there really any difference in volume between active & passive?
Jono Bolton replied to xgsjx's topic in General Discussion
Mine isn't any louder than my old passive bass was. And the change of batteries is pissing me off and I hate that I cant leave it plugged in. Is there such a thing as an active/passive bass? Such as, when the battery dies switch to passive and rock on?
The Fender Marcus Miller Jazz has a active/passive switch, it may just have been the way I had the EQ set but I noticed a big increase in volume when going from passive to active. If you can switch between the two then I believe it's usually passive pickups, with an active EQ, that was certainly the case with the MM. -
Precision scratchplate screwhole surgery
Jono Bolton replied to ras52's topic in Repairs and Technical
I had the same problem, all I did was fill the problem hole up with superglue, left it for a day then re-introduced the screw, I've removed the scratchplate a few times since and it's still holding fine.
I've done this before too. Don't think it's the recommended technique, but it'll do for my beater P Bass! -

SOLD: MIJ Fender 70RI Precision Bass non-export
These are usually 40mm nut width perfect for those of us who want a P but not with such a wide nut. They play like the Devil, that colour is as rare as my wallet opening and would look sublime with a Brown Tortie plate. I am actually salivating. 1 week ago this would have been mine .
+1 on the tort scratchplate. This is a magnificent looking bass! -
Bought a set of Rotosound strings from Ben, only got them yesterday because the postie couldn't be arsed actually bringing them to my flat, but nothing to do with Ben, posted quickly, according to the delivery slip they would've arrived quickly too if it was for the bleedin' Royal Mail! So easy to deal with, recommended!

Hi everyone, I'm looking to do a straight trade if possible, trading my Wilkinson Vintage Bass Bridge: http://www.axesrus.com/Hardware/BassBridges/WBBC/WBBCFront.jpg For one of these: http://www.themusiczoo.com/PDGImages/Fender_Vintage_Bass_Bridge_Chrome_990804100_576.jpg The Wilkinson bridge is currently fitted to my P Bass, but I much prefer the old style BBOT bridge as opposed to the big chunky brass saddles on the Wilko. Does wonders for sustain, but I like my Ps to have a bit of thud. Only really looking for bridge with threaded saddles, thanks! Any takers?

Well done, £340 is a great price! I tried one in the old Sound Control up here in Glasgow and it was fantastic, great sound, lovely quality and I really loved the chunky neck. I ordered the black one that was showing as 'in stock' online, only to get an email back telling me it was out of stock and wouldn't be back in for a couple of months. I cancelled the order and subsequently built a bitsa Jazz, and I still regret not having a little patience and waiting longer for a cracking bass
