  1. There's something about valve amps............ 😎
  2. I had an old Grampian amp that did something similar ............ 😎
  3. Thanks RB - I'd have never got that one ! 😎
  4. Meanwhile - Paypal is earning interest on your money - good crack............... 😎
  5. Try this? it's certainly the right riddim........... Think it might be this (after an hour & half of going through my reggae tracks) ....
  6. 'This' might be, but the original riddim track it's not ................ 😎 Something in my head is muttering 'Lee Perry' ?
  7. I know the riddim to Bankrobber, but I'm not getting there, tink it's quite old? (I'll keep straining the brain) 😎
  8. Saw the original - wasn't impressive, about on the same level as the juke box resto they bodged their way through.......... (I know jukes, I repaired/owned them for 20+ years) 😎
  9. Worth pointing out this is a hybrid (valve pre / class D output) ? 😎 ......late again ............!
  10. This one's $3000 (no offers) currently (EBay) (it isn't mine, btw)
  11. Good take (if a bit fast) of the Bunny Wailer original............... 😎
  12. Barefaced? British, light and good.............. 😎
  13. I've got a Marshall 2x100 chassis which had a fan that thought it were a jumbo jet - a local tech threw it out and replaced it with three slow ones, prob solved - none of my Matamps has a fan, nor did my earlier Selmer Stereomaster, so I think it depends on cab size and ventilation? 😎
  14. If you want to think about another - https://www.facebook.com/ampstack/ is well worth the call (I bought my 300 Matamp slave from him, nice guy) 😎
  15. Viv Prince (pretty things) used to run a basement dive in Soho Square (Knuckles), I bumped into Jet there - he was too spaced out to notice - Viv told me his name. 😎
  16. The Matamp slave handles reggae dub like a dream - it was designed for sound system use around Huddersfield Nowdays I'm only using it in the lounge (!) but it's great. If you can find one, buy it (I've got another built up with a new valve preamp, rare as hens teeth) 😎
  17. Yeah, ok, it's a first world problem .....................
  18. All shops currently have supply difficulties - wholesalers sold their buffer stocks rather than trying to continually restock and now are faced with supply problems, a lot of stuff just ain't there, in some sectors Christmas is going to be bad news....... (random example, lady customer today said that Sainsburys had no trainer socks for the last seven weeks - it's going to get worse before it gets better) 😎
  19. I'm guessing these are not a 'video' session, so I would have thought that any facility with a betamax player could simply take the sound output and convert to digital? 😎
  20. In my experience, unless the venue has a dedicated pa sound tech and only they touch any of it, you can very quickly be in the same situation as many rehearsal spaces, where the kit simply gets abused and uncared for. 😎
  21. -Got this one for bass drivers (KT 120 outputs) and one of these for mid/top Now all I need is a road crew and forklift........... 😎
  22. No-one seems to have mentioned Crown XLS ? I used one for reggae dub and it was (imo) fine.......... 😎
  23. 54 46 was an anthem in its own right ........... so sad, RIP big man. 😕
