  1. My experience of playing pre-recorded reggae is that it's more about lower mid than sub-bass, and most studios use a compounder in the mix. 😎
  2. See, the problem is that you actually have to care, and I, being soul & reggae focussed, really don't ................... ............... end of.............. 😎
  3. I've a Marshall 100 + 100 Valve rack amp - hated the fan, got three slow runners installed instead - solved! 😎
  4. Mine is 120 Ormat & 300 Matamp slave (all valves) into 2 BFDubsters & 2 Mackie C200......in my lounge....go figure.......... 😎
  5. Blimey - that's gotta be a modern definition! Course this were all fields when the Bellamy Brothers, Allman Brothers, Country Joe and numerous others invented(?) the 'country rock' thing.. neatly splitting away from Prog Rock, Bill Haley R'n' R & other Rock 'n' roll divisions........... ymmv Other opinions are (probably) available.......... 😎
  6. In the context of this thread, it only matters whether 'you' think it's a good idea to play MJ material at the moment or not, surely? 😎
  7. It's not really my thing, musically, but I think I'd try & avoid stuff likely to p*ss people off - 😎
  8. As a matter of interest (or not) I run a clothing shop - if our window display stuff is clearly priced, we get more walk-in sales than if it's not - (I know because we've deliberately tried not pricing it, to see......) 😎
  9. It always was that a displayed price was an 'invitation to treat', thus saving shops of the bother of charging the stated price if it was wrong - - if this has changed, perhaps someone could point me to the appropriate links - I've read the above link, but I remain unconvinced as to where the 'invitation to treat' stuff is 'now' unlawful.......... 😎
  10. Skinedd Ska ennit........to each their own.......... 😎
  11. A mate of mine had a version by Kris Ife (1967) - it was on MGM & I thought it was the original - until I checked it out tonight - live & learn, eh guys.......... 😎
  12. Oh gawd, weren't we all sooo young............ 😎
  13. Great idea - count me in for a 'medium'............ 😎
  14. Amazingly unprofessional - my sympathies.......... 😎
  15. ............it's a secret - he'd tell you, but he'd have to kill you.......... 😎
  16. I went to one of those in Wuppertal a long time ago - it was more a dive bar, I had a nasty dose of flu & the woman behind the bar was practically sha...ng the only other customer. After about one drink, I left, thus proving that shnaps does not act as a universal cure........... 😎
  17. I'm sure that some delivery guys just hate the fooking job and its customers ............ 😎
  18. Same difference - I have a large pic on the front of my shop showing someone wearing a brand of clothingthat we sell - I get totally bored with explaining to people that the pic is representative of the brand, NOT my shop stock (which is newer & totally different)........... 😎
  19. We call them PacketShove around here.......... 😎
  20. ;Pressure Drop' would be a great start - just learn one or two numbers properly and get the feel of how it's done .......... musically it's simple enough but different. If you can get hold of a copy, Club Ska 67 is a good value album to practice with - Whine and Grine Club Ska 67 is the same + one track extra - Amazon have one for £3.25 😎
  21. As in 'You picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille'? 😎
