I've just shuffled my living room about, having put a load of Orange/Matamp/Crown/Marshall up on the Bay (usual idiot timewasters....) I'm now down to my very own personal sound choice: 2x Barefaced Dubsters powered by a 300 (1970?)(Mathias) Matamp slave (KT120 x4) 2x Mackie C200 tops powered by a 120 (1969) OrangeMatamp (EL34 x 4) 1x Focusrite Compounder 1x Generic frequency splitter 1x Numark CDN77 twin cd deck 1x Denon DNX500 preamp/mixer Nothing 'solid state even comes close ...... this set's a Keeper.........I'm playing Joe Gibbs (reggae) as I type I think I'm in love........... 😎

I have to admit that I was puzzled as to why this wasn't shoved as an 'open mike' It's just another cheapskate non-event. (my opinion, other opinions are available) 😎

When I was at school, I had a part-time job with a firm in North London who specialised in muso gig kit. One of their favourite party pieces was to cut Hammonds in half (lengthwise, obv) to make them transportable. It seems that the bouncers got him, but the muso chose not to press charges.......... not necessarily a good move that, this sort of stunt needs stopping, but I can see that the singer might be frightened of repercussions........difficult. 😎

For this to work there has to be a lot more joined-up thinking than at present. Example - I run a high street clothing retail shop. Our main supplier has a large self-serving internet site, without warning they made all their retail outlets into a 'click & collect' facility, with no notice & no financial incentive - bonus to us=nil, we just pay to be here......doh. 😎

While we're doing a lighting thread - I once met a delightful old boy who did the sparking stuff at the Kings Hall, Herne Bay. He asked if I'd ever worked in lime(light)? So there I was, lit with a moving lime follow spot, for both sets - unforgettable! All a long time ago (1972ish?) - it's had an interior makeover since then.......... 😎
