1. Thanks Downdown - I should have made that clear(er) - my bad.
2. With written stuff it used to be that you sent it to yourself by registered post and DIDN'T OPEN IT unless it was needed by a court/solicitor. I'm musing that you could probably send a cd registered in the same way?
3. Solicitor, with a 'cease & desist' notice - won't cost much, but gives you solid ammunition if you need to get they guy sanctioned.
4. .........^ ^ ......... I think you have to be SERIOUSLY bad before the crowd starts noticing (!)
5. And if you get stuck across that rip in the cloth - it's your round...........
6. There is a school of thought that suggests that men 'of a certain age' who continually reference sex in 'conversations' ....ain't getting it.......
7. .............be reasonable, do it my way............
8. I've got a couple of 'specials' built for me by Matamp (both rated in the 300watt area) - they are awesome..........
9. ............They're essentially Orange amps aren't they? ............ Don't let anyone near Meltham hear you say that (!) Matamp are pure rock 'n' roll (and their wattage is what they say it is).
10. My mum assembled airplanes (but it was in 1940) - I've never worked for the Beeb I agree with Skank.......... (sigh)
11. Class D ? Look at Crown Drivecore XLS - I've got one, and I can carry it in one hand- loads of grunt and looks to be (fairly) indestructible...... (said he, a confirmed fanboi of Matamp valves.........)
12. I've forgotten the last time that I bought at the end of an Ebay auction........... most sellers are quite sensible & happy to negotiate.
13. Another vote for the 'buy it now' road- if I want something, I want it........ all this pratting about with losing auctions (which have likely been won using software trickery) is just too much cr*p..........
14. I think 'quit while you're ahead' sums it up - never known (musical) life without her.........
15. I was chatting with Jeff (Matamp) Lewis a while back & he 'priced' my original Partridge transformer sets (300 watts) at well over £1200. - Add in a sturdy metal chassis (around 100+), and that's before you've added the bits & bottles. Edit - Worth a visit to the new Matamp website - it's all gone a bit thing up t'north..........
16. My (predictable) fourpenneth - buy a bluddy great Matamp & chuck the sound through a Gen3 Barefaced cab.........!
17. I had a gig that had specified 'Scottish Country Dancing' - bearing in mind that I was running a soul & reggae sound system............I left messages suggesting that they brought their preferred choice of music for me to play..........sure enough they didn't & I spent most of the evening in the bar. Never worked there again, thank goodness (oh yes, and it was, apparently, all 'my' fault - f off)
18. I'd get it checked by a proper tech, sorted as needed & use it - I would most certainly NOT mess around with the cosmetics or tart it up/repaint or twiddle in any way - it's rare....... the iron alone is worth a small fortune !
19. Back in the day, City Electronics (north London) used to build 'band speakers' and they ran Audax (audix?) amplifiers, made in Kent with them....finished in Blue Hammerite.........I can't remember anything over 100watt, but it was a long time ago (about 1966)........ Just had a proper look at the Beast, the Front panel is definitely showing a Leeds company, so my 'guess' was a bit off - sorry!
20. Slightly off-topic, but still bank related - once had a letting agency inform that they had sent 'my' rent to the wrong bank account - I politely pointed out that it wasn't my rent, just a amount of their funds. They tried to argue the point......and paid up.
21. Ask the doc for a short course of beta-blockers, see if that helps.
22. I note that Sankeys (Manchester) are closing (immediately) after the whole block was sold to a residential developer. ....All seems a little quick?...........
23. Nice to see that a vestige of the EMI legacy seems to be alive & well in Hayes (North London) http://thevinylfactory.com/
24. ...... not sure about the handles.......
25. ^^^ I left in 1979 - as a matter of interest, the company was Peter Simper, based in Bath. Did you work for Larens?
