  2. I feel your pain bud, Our singer turned up to gig last night with a) the PA unit I told him to buy b) a pair of PA stands c) assorted cables I had to source the Monitors and the Lead Guitarist borrowed 2 powered speakers from his sons band..... Guess who had to wire it all up and then get moaned at because my bass rig wasn't set up when singist wanted to do soundcheck! ๐Ÿค”
  3. We were up Burton way last night too, Corporate gig at the Hilton at St George (England footy training ground apparently) Free food, beer and lodgings, played for about an hour at 11pm and sat in the foyer drinking beer and watching all the drunk Hooray Henrys and Henrietta's staggering round in circles trying find their rooms until about 3am. Wonderful atmosphere while we were playing, dropped a few notes watching the antics on the dancefloor, and generally had a whale of a time......Roll on next year!
  4. I never knew this Pistols had covered Stepping Stone...gotta go look for that now!! Being a late starter mine was With or Without You, U2, although I knew right from the start that the bass didn't follow the guitar on Smoke On The Water!! I've been humming the bass lines to songs since about 1971!
  5. Mine cost me a hundred quid 2nd hand about 12 years ago....I'd pay 160 for it aye.
  6. Ooh I have one of those, also in Black, its a lovely piece of kit, I can highly recommend!!
  7. 27Hz up to about 11.5K where it merges with my tinnitus, not too bad for my 58 years I guess, loud working environment in my youth plus too many noisy gigs finally taking their toll.
  8. Nice One Lozz, Knock Off really are a class act, well deserved!!
  9. Say that again when yer sober mate!!๐Ÿคฃ
  10. Thought it looked familiar, went to a few dances there back in the day,
  11. Like many on here it seems, I met Colin Via SE bass bash, a lovely chap, who always had a good word for everything, so sad to hear of his passing, he will be remembered.
  12. Congrats Col, helluva slot to fill, good on ya!
  13. Being an impressionable teenager reading shedloads of Sci Fi and listening to Yes, I always apportioned their lyrics to sc fi/fantasy themes (the albums covers helped ofc!)..Nowadays it seems even Jon Anderson didn't know what his lyrics were about!! He just liked the way they sounded together ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  14. SO many great Bowie basslines to play.... Moonage, Panic In Detroit, Ziggy, China Girl, Heroes, the list is endless.....maybe I should be in a Bowie Tribute band lol!
  15. Damn that was good, Gratz for getting the recognition!
  16. Tell Tim he owes me a pint if you spend money with him....I should get finders fees lol!!
  17. @TimAl on here makes banners that fit over Cabs, so maybe something to cover your PA speakers? https://www.speaker.graphics/
  18. One of the best gigs...and one of the loudest, every time I saw em my ears were ringing for days after......still do actually, I wonder if its connected!
  19. Ooh..my copy isn't signed....off to Christies!!
  20. At a yearly festival, a guitar stand with my name at it, we got invited back the following year...and there it was on the stage!!!
  21. Sept 2003 at the Pitz In Milton Keynes, I'd been playing Bass for about 5 months at this point so only knew about half the set, the lead singer played the other half instead of his 12 string acoustic. I just cowered next to my amp for the whole gig looking terrified lol!
  22. LMAO!!! Its also a great excuse to get loud and trebly! รก la Entwhistle's tone, something I don't often do
  23. Used to do Pinball Wizard too, until the guitarist complained it hurt his fingers and sulked until we dropped it...*sigh*
