1. Arrgh MK shoots itself in the foot again Better off playing the Legion in Newport Pagnell, they like a bit of noise there!!
2. Another thumbs up for smoothhound, our lead git liked mine so much he got his own, awesome kit and no bleedover with 2 units in close proximity...recommended.
3. Cheers Lozz...I'm glad I held out for the 500 rather than the 350 tho all that OOOMPH is intoxicating! Chris I thought my Reidmar gave me good tone with the BF, but the TH500 is something else entirely!
4. Nice work there! Lovin the look of your Tbird, is that pickguard original?
5. Bought a Tonehammer 500 off Higgie as I was looking for a warmer sound to compliment my BF 2x10. Was absolutely blown away at rehearsal last night, and got thumbs up from all band members and even the owner (also a bass player) He thought I was playing through the house Ampeg!! Cant wait to gig this gorgeous combo...was so carried away last night I forgot to take pics..but will follow up soon.
6. Bought Tonehammer 500 from James, he invited me over and we swapped tales, what a knowledgable young man he is and very honest about his gear, happy to recommend him.
7. And very happy I am with it too...the neighbours...not so much! Thanks for the tea and chat fella
8. I just use a Tippex type pen Colin, just top it up as required and it gives a noticable white dot..cheap as chips too! https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Pens-Pencils-Writing-Supplies/Pentel-Micro-Correct-Precision-Correction/B000I6NU26/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493708464&sr=8-2&keywords=tippex+pen
9. I've used Tim a couple of times, and can thoroughly recommend him!
10. Blackout...mainly because we used to blackout every time band name discussion came up, could just have easily been Braindeads or Blank Looks I guess!
11. UK, their light was all too brief! http://www.youtube....h?v=AeXSQl56no8 Took a girl to see the band at the Decorum in Hemel in 79, was blown away by the music, lost the girl after about 15 mins, she was bored silly, but came home with the album...I've still got the album
12.
Depends on the YES song. Owner of a Horse and Cart would be OK with them. And you will now be singing those lyrics next time you hear that song Dave
You git...now I will have that in my head forever!!
13. Yup...one pub we do, we feel like Billy no mates, with mebbe a dozen peeps in front of us, hit the bar at the break and its rammed!! LL keeps asking us back so we must be doing something right!
14. Apparently the Dark Morris is danced to welcome the Wintersmith and heralds the coming of winter . The traditional summer Morris dancing is supposed to reverse the process.....According to Terry Pratchett anyway.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wintersmith
15. Arranged to meet Mark in a Costa to buy his HB jazz bass for silly money, lovely chap, deal done in 20 seconds, over an hour spent chatting, could have spent longer too, but I think his son was getting bored. Deal with confidence, Mark knows his stuff!
16.
Dismissed them out of hand at the Genesis 'Six of the Best' reunion in '82. Having read Phil Brown's memoirs last year, I was intrigued enough to listen again. Superb.
Ye Gods, that takes me back, if I remember right we were camped in the toilets down the front while they were on, demanding swigs of beer from anyone who wanted to come in for a leak! Either their set was very short or they got booed off early....its all a bit hazy *sigh* I did follow up after the gig though and found the music excellent.
17. Lemme guess...black on Maple P? Or has the great man expanded his jazz collection a tad?
18. The White Hart as in..Old High Street? Man that used to be my local back in the 70's No room for any music then, place was always rammed!! Hellfire that brings back some memories.....I even met my good lady in there!
19.
They must have had more members over the years than we BETWEEN US have had hot dinners. Even I got roped in on a very temporary basis on guitar at a tiny festival in a very muddy field in Huntingdonshire. A pal was the actual guitarist at the time and persuaded me to "have a go" So long ago I cant even remember the chaps name but do remember I did NOT cover myself with glory....
Given the stories about how pernickety Robert Godfrey could be about playing things right, I'm surprised you escaped with your life!!
20. Me and the missus have seen the Enid a few times over the years, always different, always challenging, always enjoyed it. Not so sure now RJG has hung up his keyboards though.....
21. yer that's why stressed people are thin!! Must remember to leap about even more tonight!!!!
