Smooth Hound Innovations Digital Wireless Guitar System
Oopsdabassist replied to Dood's topic in Accessories and Misc
Mine is mainly plugged into a P and has been since I bought it a year or so ago, no issues to report as yet, if it bothers you, get the associated adapter and a short patch lead and clip it to your strap. I do that when using my Yamahas. -
Smooth Hound Innovations Digital Wireless Guitar System

Do it, you wont regret it! I have pursuaded both guitarists in one band to get one...three of us looning about wireless now, no issues and big smiles! -
I like to pluck just below the pickup, towards the bridge (although it varies a bit, often I pluck right over it too). The thing is I'm used to using a pickup as a reference/resting place (from using a Stingray) so I tend to put tiny thumbrests below the Precision pickup. Like this:
Great little thumb rests those are, mine sits a little further forward though That one is aluminium though, I wonder if we could persuade our fellow basschatter to knock up some more?

Loving the bit of chain for a strap...I bet its gets uncomfortable after a while though?

He could I'm sure, but there was a fair bit of to and fro getting the matching just right, it kinda helps that Tim is only 20 mins from me! Drop him a line and see what he says!

TimAl take a bow, it was his handiwork!

Thanks Karl, took a while but we made it! Glad I got you head scratching BassA....that was the plan!

Thanks Andy, its not a patch on the sort of stuff you regularly turn out, but I had fun playing around, and as you say, very satisfying!

Headstock transfer finally in place With the final weight of the bass being a gnats over 7.5lb, the small print, which reads 'just what the Dr ordered' seems most appropriate! After much work from our friend Tim at Scratchit, I finally managed to get the pickguard I wanted, shows off the purple burst nicely I feel. Add to that some purple topped knobs, my last thumb rest, which was one of a batch made by a fellow basschatter a while back, and some Fender flatwounds, and we are good to go! Oh BTW I've put the original PU's back in for the moment, they are pretty good actually, I still have the couple of others lying around for future fiddling! At rehearsal last night, got a very nice tone through my Reidmar and BF retro 2x10. I declare myself well chuffed with the result!!!

It seems I have neglecting this build for a while...blame Christmas, and....stuff So, I acquired a 2nd hand Kiogon loom from a fellow basschatter The new CTS pots were a squeaky tight fit in the narrow routing of the body, but fit they did!
You mean there's more than one man with that name? Wow! Confusing!
Are you thinking of Herbie Flowers perchance? Cos that's what I did at first !!!

An actual hard case is only really required if your gear gets flung into a 'band van', if you are driving yourself to/from gigs then this is spot on..I have 2 myself https://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_e_bass_gigbag_premium.htm?glp=1&gclid=CjwKEAiA17LDBRDElqOGq8vR7m8SJAA1AC0_1JkoVO9RHjYVqz2NOgQ6asY1H16G392WNeK0hBk2WRoCyr3w_wcB I've also got one of these, but as I say above, cos I drive myself around, it rarely gets used nowadays, cos it definitely takes up more room! https://www.thomann.de/gb/gator_gcbass_pvc_case.htm?ref=search_rslt_gator+bass_212517_4

The Engineer in me says an anchor is essential, otherwise there is no control as to what goers where, a point of reference is needed. Having said that, look at all the responses in favour of floating thumb. I just know what works for me.......that and a pick!

Myself and my nephew have been talked into playing, amongst others, 'rappers delight' for family xmas karaoke, lovely bassline and very hypnotic, and not my usual fare, so fun to play something different.

Collected my new car last Friday...does that count?
