1. Bedford Riverside festival a couple of years back, steaming hot day so the whole event was packed, we had a 40 min slot mid afternoon, on 2nd stage, after a gospel Choir and before a teen thrash band, but a quick(rough) headcount before we went on I reckon going on 2000 people......fantastic fun and more than slightly bowel loosening!!!
2.
I think his work is the most sophisticated Prog out there. Olias, Animation and Song of Seven are genius and his contribution to Yes was, for me, THE defining element. Anderson IS prog rock.
Oh gods yes, Olias is still one of my most played albums
3. He has ALWAYS been my prog god. nice to see the world has caught up finally!
4. I'm just composing the PM now
5. What the weight please?
6. I met up with Lozz yesterday and had a little play, what an awesome sounding rig! Fits his pick playing punky sound to a T! I was thinking of buying his old BF cab, but Karlfer beat me to it.....is there anything Karl HASN'T owned????
7. Fri night at a regular haunt, but we were down 1 guitarist due to illness so set was drastically re jigged. Had a tip from a group, that one of theirs was a singer, could we invite her up, turns out she is a OPERA singer.....and a bit tiddly, and very shy, she came up in the break and crooned 'Summertime (and the living is easy)' with me and the drummer just winging it in the background. What a voice! Weirdest thing I've ever done but gave a great rapport with the crowd, and we had a great night. Its always good when people dance but said opera singer was ON IT after her spot
8. Hmm at 16 it was close between Curved Air and Yes. Although I managed to see Curved Air more times in the mid 70's, I've always been a massive Yes fan!!
9.
And where can one typically obtain that?
Boots the chemist?
10.
A common complaint with new flat wounds. Give them a good wipe down with a clean cloth and, if you have it, isopropyl alcohol. You'll be surprised how much black yuck comes off.
Wait..whut? Fat Beams are rounds not flats......I guess the advice still applies though
11. Yamaha's have a very nice 5 string with 18mm spacing at the bridge https://www.gak.co.uk/en/yamaha-trbx505-5-string-bass-tbn/81960?gclid=Cj0KEQjwi_W9BRD_3uio_Jz-p8UBEiQANU80vvr_nSg7aqP_UfLfHPopYd23krmVFPLu8BbRVkwCyu0aAqUk8P8HAQ I know as I have one! I had same issue as you in that strings felt too bunched up and the spacing of the Yam did help. Having said that I can sympathise with Discreet re swapping between a 4 and a 5ver, and I love my 4's too much, so I can see the Yam 5 going at some point.
12. I blagged a 2nd hand boss VE20 of basschat https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ve-20-Vocal-Performer-Effects-Processor/dp/B002W0Z8DU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1471950949&sr=8-2&keywords=boss+ve+20 I play in a rock band and in that situation the harmonys sound pretty damn good. It will do 3rds, 5ths or 7ths both above and below your voice. It can go a bit OTT if you're not careful though, overall a useful bit of kit albeit not cheap if bought new. My singing voice like OP is a bit thin so I'll say this could work
13. Lozz is based is hemel hempstead, just off J8 of the M1
14. That's your own fault for sorting out my neck via PM lol Thanks again BTW
15. Twice, an E string, on stage, 1st bar into our 1st song, frantic brainstrain trying to rejig to get to the end of the song, 2nd time was a G string while changing strings.
16. Do like a bit o glam, you carry on skank me ole tater!
17. Hi Don Found your way here then? I said we were friendly I'll tell Lester you made it! Very envious of the Blue Ricky, I think it looks great!

19.
Where to begin?! http://www.coverbrow...st-album-covers
Surprised to see Sabbath's Sabotage in there...I always thought that was a great cover! Can't think of a really bad album cover from the ones I own, probably because back in the day, album art was such a big part of the purchase.
20. Ziggy Stardust, one of the few basslines I know that actually mirrors the melody, so people recognise it. Also The Chain ofc!
21. Just ordered a set for my Squier PJ, found this topic just after....great minds an all that!
