1. one slow song per set..in the middle..thats it!
2. I dally with BV's but that is usually my limit as I couldn't carry a tune without a bucket We decided on Space Oddity recently, but singer was really struggling with the lyrics, and his phrasing so I kinda sang guide vocal under him, on one take he just gave up completely and left me to it, I surprised myself by 1) keeping in tune all the way through 2) kept bass line going at same time.. I was ecstatic and want to keep it in, he was miffed and wants to can the song I think i managed as its sort of spoken rather than sung and its also at the bottom of my range so I'm not taking so much effort and staying in tune better. makes me smile everytime I think about it....easily pleased eh?
3. if you hit the tuner buttons and hold, the B3 will mute, just hitting the tuner buttons still passes the signal through.
4. Olias of Sunhillow, absolutely sublime album!

12.
When I am asked why I started playing bass, I tell people that one of the reasons is that I discovered that I hummed bass lines when ever I was singing along to a song. I must have been a weird little boy to listen to ha ha ha!
I kinda just decided, in my 40's, 'I'm gonna learn to play music' took be about 30 seconds to realise, I did exactly that, hum basslines,..since I was about 11. Starting to play was a long time comin'!! As an alternative take on lyrics, I've always loved Yes, the lyrics never made that much sense, but the flow of the words, and how they fell with the music, made them just as important as the music, even though I had no clue what it was all about! To an impressionable 12 year old, that made yes all the more mysterious!!!
13. I knew I had heard that the double version somewhere https://www.youtube....h?v=VjoJysBAsUg I actually have that DVD!!
14. Ooh tnx for that info, Their website a bit out of date then, still showing you in their Bio section. Haven't heard that particular GM album......*Runs off to Amazon*..... Oh and welcome to Basschat!!!
15. Hi Neil heard your band, Space Elevator's rendition of 'Don't believe A Word' on Planet Rock yesterday, very tasty I thought, linking the fast and slow versions like that
16.
Pedants corner: the verb is practise and the noun is practice. If this doesn't help, mentally substitute advise and advice into the sentence and see which sounds right. Both pairs use the same rule.
Well ya learn something new every day....I've just learned Colgraff is a World Class pedant!!! And I always thought practise spelt that way was a typo!
17. AHA! I was confused at first, but seeing all the replies I see whats going on now. having seeing Oashish once..I won't be paying for the privilege a second time, tnx anyway. Interesting take on festivals I guess, but not for me.
18. Sound and Vision is such an innovative song, I mean, very sparse lyrics, that don't come in until halfway through..and a cracking groove to boot...Brilliant! AND still a hit single, the man had the touch!
19. Guys, I think Blue, being one of the few 'mericans on here, may not 'get' our way of thinking, I did laugh at the Megadeth thing though...... Back OT, I find Dave Mustaine and that whole style of metal a closed book to me, and as a huge Sabbath fan from way back when...I have tried, believe me.
20. Interesting stuff, especially opening with Blackstar!
21.
Hmmm 196 ? Atomic mass of gold ? Last digits of service number ? Elephant & Castle bus route ?
Very nearly the year he was born is my guess! Finally got a Jazz you like then mate?
