1. Guys, I think Blue, being one of the few 'mericans on here, may not 'get' our way of thinking, I did laugh at the Megadeth thing though...... Back OT, I find Dave Mustaine and that whole style of metal a closed book to me, and as a huge Sabbath fan from way back when...I have tried, believe me.
2. Interesting stuff, especially opening with Blackstar!
3.
Hmmm 196 ? Atomic mass of gold ? Last digits of service number ? Elephant & Castle bus route ?
Very nearly the year he was born is my guess! Finally got a Jazz you like then mate?
4.
I always loved panic in Detroit
A band I was once in, not long after I started playing bass, made me learn this, it nearly killed me, but what a song! That's the thing with Bowie, as soon as you nail your colours to the mast, along comes someone else to remind you of yet another great song!
5. Its always been Heroes for me, so much emotion in one song, but Blackstar is just so damn weird...and current..and so...Bowie....
6. EBS Reidmar, rated at 250W, but that's at 4 ohm, so about 160w into my 8 ohm Barefaced Compact, gain about 30%, master volume about 40%, and that's with 2 guitarists with Marshall/Blackstar half stacks. More than enough, and a lightweight rig to boot!
7.
Funny, no-one seems to have much nostalgia for lightweight stuff!
That's cos we are still using it! Eden 4 x 10 XST and a 400W Eden amp sounds sublime, but the cab was 90 lbs and the amp nearly the same, lovely gear but I just can't be arsed to lug it around now.
8. So sad....but so true, its a great album.
9. Damn..my wife rang me on my way to work to tell me, absolutely shellshocked. Just been raving over the new album too. God bless you fella for always being different, and always being you.
10. Barrel jacks on my Yamaha's. pain the #rse when the springs go, and you can't easily adjust em like normal open jacks..grrrrrrrrrrrrr
11. 2nd'd and Kudo's to OBBM for getting in so quick!
12. memorial live tonight 13.30 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSAXVdIj6jY&feature=youtu.be
13. I started a thread before Xmas when I heard Blackstar for the first time, totally blown away by thta track and now lovin the album too!
14.
Sure we can sort something at some point Russ.
Cheers for that Lozz, maybe arrange a meet up sometime?
15. Anyone ever A/B'd one with a Reidmar? I love my Reidmar, but damn this thing sounds good!!
16. erm..... waddya mean? they are still on the bass...haven't broken one in years!
17. not just me then......
18. We rotate a couple of Foos songs which normally go down well round here, and have on occasion bunged summer of 69 as a set finisher, punters seem to love it, and I enjoy playing it, no worries. We are pretty much audience whores and will play anything if they get up and dance...even Dakota!!! The only songs I ever dislike playing are the ones I know I can feck up if I'm not careful, just makes me focus a bit more though.

Zoom B3
They aren't fiddly at all, in that I never fiddle with one live, I just have it setup how I want and turn the sections on I need when I need them.
That's the way to do it, if you are an inveterate fiddler, then tweaking on the fly might be a problem, I have about 6 presets that I played with at home and in the rehearsal room, and now I've got em right its just a case of step up or step down to find em.
Depends on your amp, your bass and the room. I'm not alone on this one. Blue
Might be alone on here mate, I've been gigging mine for 3 years or so, never had any issues.

Got both B3 and a B1.ut thingy, prefer the B3 for its smaller footprint, great bit of kit! I recommend it.
22.
Shocking news, I always thought that cancer would die of Lemmy. RIP you legend.
Sad as F#@K on hearing the news, but still manage to p!ss meself laughing at this. Everytime I hear thunder from now on, I'll know Its Lemmy rocking the afterlife.
23. His normal bassist, Gail Ann Dorsey is playing rhythm on that track. I presume she doesn't slap, bit like me really....although I have more hair!
24. Love the finish!
25. Welcome aboard fella, sounds like an interesting life you've led so far, all the best for the future!
