Paul says, "Argh! F***ing hell!". Pretty funny every time I hear it on the radio.
All the years I been listening to that song, and I've never noticed!! well F#@k me!! Re Summer of 69, our singist always howls 'me and my baby love 69', she is usually in the audience and even she doesn't notice...cracks me up though!

"Seriously?".. albums you like, but you're flying solo...
Oopsdabassist replied to The Admiral's topic in General Discussion
Always liked never Say die meself, was a bit overproduced for my liking though. Mine is probably Air Cut by Curved Air, it was the one that didn't feature Darryl Way, and was a bugger to get hold of when CD's came out, no one was interested, but I think its a cracking album! -
Where would Prog be without Roger Dean?
Oopsdabassist replied to pfretrock's topic in General Discussion
Not Roger Dean, but I had pretty much of David Roe's artwork for Olias of Sunhillow drawn out and posted all over my bedroom, as you say Bilbo, the time we had in the 70's!! -

At last! A youtube video of my Jazz East venture!!
Oopsdabassist replied to Bilbo's topic in General Discussion
Less of a rule, more of a statement, it always seems to happen whether you want it to or not! Lovely vid, most footage of me seems to be taken on phone cameras which is blurred, badly lit and soundtracked by a wall of noise. -
Dawn of light lying between a silence and sold sources, Chased amid fusions of wonder In moments hardly seen forgotten, Coloured in pastures of chance Dancing leaves cast spells of Challenge, Amused but real in thought, We fled from the sea whole. Dawn of thought transferred through moments of days undersearching Earth Revelaing corridors of time, provoking memories, Disjointed but with purpose, Craving penetrations offer links with the self-instructors sharp And tender love As we took to the air, a picture of distance. Dawn of our power we amuse redescending as fast as misused Expression, As only to teach love as to reveal passion chasing Late into corners, And we danced from the ocean. Dawn of love sent within us colours of awakening among the many Won't to follow, Only tunes of a different age. As the links span our endless caresses for the freedom of life Everlasting.
Not often are you gonna get tales from topographic oceans quotes around here..well played sir. Also loving the Warren Zevon lines, that guy was a classy wordsmith. The one that sprang to mind when I read the thread header is: So here I am once more In the playground of the Broken hearts One more experience, one more entry from a diary, self penned -

I'd second Dakota, dead easy, and the crowds love it, which always makes you feel good! -

yup yup and YUP! -
I'm def in the 'keep it tidy' camp, although last Sat, having wandered around the 'stage area' with my ORANGE gaffa tape (courtesy of our late lamented goat worrier) I still managed to get my left foot hooked around my own lead (wish I had used the smoothhound now) and commenced a slow left hand topple mid song. A swift twist of the shoulder meant the headstock avoided the wall, but 2 inches further back and I would have disappeared through an open door into a cupboard! Laugh it off and carry on...no one noticed I told myself...looked up straight into the drummers partners eyes who was killing herself laughing, along with about 6 of her mates...Damn!!

One of my guitarists was so impressed with mine, he's bought his own....Do I get a finders fee Chris? Admittedly I have to talk him through the connection process over the phone as he didn't know where to put it 'cos of his pedal board. He saw mine velcro'd to my amp and tried to copy Still....guitarists....what can ye do with em? -
The song you never grow tired of playing
Oopsdabassist replied to colgraff's topic in General Discussion
I actually quite like Dakota, not too demanding which means I can focus on the BV's and ogling the crowd. but for an all time fave I'm with Hobbayne, Radar Love is my little moment to shine, and it never gets old hat! -
Newbie Question: Vintage vs 'Hi-Fi' sound
Oopsdabassist replied to Naetharu's topic in General Discussion
From my (abeit limited) experience a vintage tone will be a warm, muddy sound with a lack of treble, whereas the hi fi sound is the opposite, very clean with lots of treble and mids. As I mainly play a Precision through a modern class D amp and a Barefaced cab, I can pretty much get both ends of the scale to the degree that satisfies me. Slappers tend to prefer the hi fi sound and soul/reggae is the vintage end of the spectrum, us rockers use the lot according to taste! Dunno if that helps or not. -
I have what I have cos I like it, what else needs to be said?

Never mind all that, anyone who has Richard for an avatar is cool as feck before a bass guitar is even picked up!! For Pony!! geekmode *off*

Albums that are not given the recognition they deserve.
Oopsdabassist replied to colgraff's topic in General Discussion
Curved Air...Air Cut, the black sheep of the family with no Darryl Way on board, but 17 year old prodigy Eddie Jobson providing the Violin and the melodrama, this album is a hard rocking hippytastic crossover. I absolutely love it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11cRJedrR0Q&list=PL501844DB90713215 -
