1. I think my username is so unusual it explains why every pic in mine is basschat related. Was even a couple of my basses further up, but I had to get Jack in...and MacDaddy too, had I but realised it
2. Hmmm I seem to have collected a certain happy chap in a hat when I do it
3. If he is a 'good' mate you should be able to swear at him ie 'shut the f#@k for 30 seconds cant ye?' without him getting all huffy. Heaps of banter like that at our rehearsals, no one ever takes offence, although I put on a hurt face if someone does it to me !
4. Nailed it Barney, nothing to see here, I'm moving on.
5. Looks great, I agree about the knobs though. That Plexi P you have next to it is just awesome! How much does it weigh??
6. Or, if you are like me and love the sound of dead strings, I've had a set of greens on for about 4 years now and I think they are great! The coating is only now starting to flake off where I use a pick and around some frets. Expensive, but in my case well worth it.
7. Beds are Burning, don't see many bands doing that round here. Apart from us ofc!
8. In a Broken Dream...the Thunder cover is a stonker!
9. I run my compact with a Reidmar and I can get very Chris Squire trebley if I need to with that combination, not that I have the chops you understand, but its there alright. Not tried a MB head so can't comment there. Also the Reidmar is plenty loud, 2 guitarists with 50W 4x12 Marshalls and I still get myself heard!
10. I think it repeats 7pm on a Tuesday, always used to anyway.
11. hmmm any idea what the string spacing is? My TRB is 18mm so looking for something similar really.
12. I see Steviedee's band got a play on the Sunday night 'One Man and His Prog' show last night, and a plug on Planet Rock's FB page Nice one guys http://radioplayer.planetrock.com/la845852/one-man-and-his-prog/
13. ooooh..TRB weighs in at 10.4lbs...getting interested now! Anyone fancy a gorgeous teal green TRB 5 so I can raise funds?
14. Interesting colour, when you say quite light, can you be more specific please? My TRB 5 is killing my back, so a lighter Yam is tempting
15. I have an Eden rig which sounds Bloody Gorgeous.........also weighs a bloody ton mind!
16. Yup that scroll wheel does it for me, sorely tempted. If, as you say you can plug yer bass in too, result! And if it makes an overweight middled aged rocker look cool as well.....I'll not argue!
17. Anyone else seen this and thought ...oooooooh? https://www.marshallheadphones.com/mh_uk_en/phones/london-phone
18.
Not a song, but a moment in a song. And more hair on back of neck than asphyxiation...but in Firth of Fifth by Genesis there is a moment about a third of the way through when Steve Hackett comes in with the main guitar solo...just wonderful (ymmv, imho and other caveats apply).
Yes and Yes again! In fact thinking about it, the Seconds Out album still gets me with Afterglow, Firth of Fifth AND the Finale of Los Endos. A session listening to the whole album reduces me to a blubbering wreck!! And has done since 1977. And I must say, Wirebirds version of White rabbit tingled my spine also, nice work there Dave!
19. Oooooh a scandal! Do tell Kev. Saw Slade back in 74.....feck me they were loud!! Utterly brilliant too. Also saw Dave 'n' Don last year, still bashing out the good stuff I would have loved to meet Jim Lea too, was my earliest Bass hero, especially when I try to play Slade songs now and find out some of those bass lines weren't as simple as I thought!
20. And yes..silly hats were the order of the day!!
21. Got the opening slot at local mini festival this afternoon http://cranfestuk.weebly.com/line-up.html Stage was a couple of flatbed trailers planked over, but the backline was all Marshall (just up the road) and the sound guys were def on the ball, making us sound great apparently. Had a whale of a time, and being 1st on even had the chance to soundcheck! 22. I'm a huge PF and Gilmour fan, but I wouldn't pay £1200 for any bass, not when I get my best sound out of a hundred quid Yamaha!
23. I've got mine on a P with flatwounds which seem to be higher tension than the rounds on my Squier, so no issues with floppiness for me either. I personally find it a handy piece of kit that hold both E and D tuning very well, instant flick between the two, sometimes even mid song!
24. Corner of the bed in the spare room where my practice gear is set up, can't sit in computer chairs as the arms get in the way! Talking of computers, what do you guys use to connect a bass into a PC, I have an iRig connector, but no software for a PC.
