1. I'm a huge PF and Gilmour fan, but I wouldn't pay £1200 for any bass, not when I get my best sound out of a hundred quid Yamaha!
2. I've got mine on a P with flatwounds which seem to be higher tension than the rounds on my Squier, so no issues with floppiness for me either. I personally find it a handy piece of kit that hold both E and D tuning very well, instant flick between the two, sometimes even mid song!
3. Corner of the bed in the spare room where my practice gear is set up, can't sit in computer chairs as the arms get in the way! Talking of computers, what do you guys use to connect a bass into a PC, I have an iRig connector, but no software for a PC.
4. Liking the colour I have to say.
5. I watched a vid on youtube last night of Jon Anderson on a solo tour, he introduced 'Time and a Word' as a reggae tune he wrote in the 60's that the rest of the band point blank refused to do in that style! Makes you wonder what else has changed.......
6. Yup, watching The Who at Glasto last night, all the songs our band plays I spent listening to see what Pino was playing, the songs I didn't 'know' I enjoyed far more because I was just listening to the whole package.
7.
Not that it has really got much to do with any of this, but i really enjoy Wakeman on Planet Rock
Hell yeah!
8.
Kanye v Freddie
damn damn damn, just found this on my FB feed and was gonna post it..I am SOOOO slow! Think it just about covers my feelings on this subject.
9. Skank you are...as ever... my absolute hero!
10.

I've seen this all over FB today, been chuckling all day!
11. Huge Yes fan as I am, I have to agree that the last 2 albums have been weak, and as noted in another thread, which included a Youtube clip from early this year, live they appeared to be struggling a bit. Please guys stop now, you have the best reason to with the loss of Chris.
12. Heard this yesterday, still a bit stunned, can't really express how I feel. Love my Yes music, love the way he made the bass stand out, never just a root note player, just the best. He may be gone, but we still have his legacy, excellent music.
13. Sort of a mute effect to stop open strings ringing out too much maybe?
14.

Aaargh..I'm old..saw the title and was whistling this before I even opened up the youtube link.....
15. 10.5lbs? Damn! I'm looking for something lighter than my 10.5lb Yamaha!
16. Aye our rhythm guitarist has a tele tuned open G for Stones songs, still uses all 6 strings though, he hasn't removed to low E like wot Keef did!
17. mmmm Rosewood fretboard.. ...any idea how much it weighs?

Shed The Ego

Great band name....or maybe just an instruction to singer/lead guitar?
19. I think it must be a very localised MK thing, was playing in Buckingham last night.....not a dicky bird
20.
Not playing in Milton Keynes are you, Weststarx? That`s a popular heckle up there.
Yup to be honest, if no one said it at least once during any gig round this way, I'd miss it....probably end up shouting it meself!!
21.
Can't post a link right now, but it's got to be The Persuaders for TV and the James Bond Theme for movies.
Beat me to it 'Shell, loved the Pursuaders theme as a kid
22. Agreed, and that 250W is through 4 ohm too, my barefaced compact is 8 ohm and the Reidmar is STILL louder than 2 geetarists through Marshalls!! Top piece of kit, bought mine as a back up to a 400W Eden...which now just gathers dust!
23.
With the right bass player, and the right bass... Another Prick on the Wal
Sheer Class Sirrah. I applaud you!
24. Wow that was quick tnx. Just have to ponder that maple neck a bit....
25.
No, do what you want with your hair, but that Yes show was sad.
Hair? wear it long, go for it, whatever your age. That gig, *sigh* As a lifelong Yes fan, it pained me to watch it, they all look so bored apart for Jon Davidson. In the Comments for the Vid someone mentioned a Jon Anderson/Todmobile collaboration with a Link to 'Awaken' my Fave yes song, WHAT A DIFFERENCE, a lively energetic performance of a gorgeous song that had me with goosebumps and tears of Joy.
