1.
Well I now have Oopsdabassists spare Jazz which he`s kindly lent me, so will report once I`ve done a good rehearsal with it.
Very welcome mate, sorry about the missing 'G' string (insert yer own jokes) Great gig last night, killer tone and I mean that most sincerely, 2nd set was rockin hard!! I think wee Ross was struggling with your long strap for his guest slot though, the bass was almost on the deck!!
2. Yup...the wry smile gives it away, thats what I do too!
3. Do any of you fine fellows play in, or know of a jazz combo in Cornwall, a friend of mine is looking for a band to play for his father's 83rd birthday but doesn't really know of anyone in the area. Cheers Oopsy
4. Another barefaced convert yay!! Oh and Lozz I have a black MiM jazz if ya wanna have a lend to play around.
5. well there is always airkix in MK right next to the exscape with indoor skiing http://www.xscape.co.uk/milton-keynes/concessions/sno-zone and just opened the 4d cinema experience http://www.xscape.co.uk/milton-keynes/news_and_offers/4d-arrives-at-cineworld-mk-2022 and OFC there is always ther concrete cows to go and laugh at! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concrete_Cows
6. I'm confused... you want to beef up your backing vocals, what difference does playing chords or notes make?...unless your mic picks up your bass and confuses the device? I have a Boss VE20 to help with our BV's its useful for me as I usually sing flat and it 'autotunes' me (sorta) at the same time.....never had any feedback issues with my bass though. I use an upper 5th and a lower 3rd setting which thickens up my voice really well. 7.
I could never get the bassline right that plays under the guitar solo on Are you gonna go my way by Lenny Kravitz. Not a difficult line but it appeared to be a random collection of chromatic runs with no pattern to them.
You've obviously seen me doing it! never the same twice!
8. You could always try an EB3, at least its long scale....and as it happens,, I have a Epiphone going spare...........
9. Loving that colour and the gloss! Shame its a maple neck though...don't like maple necks OFC that colour probably wouldn't work with rosewood anyway so I'm double screwed..such a shame cos I love that finish!!
10. That reads like an article about me..control the drummer...check, wear what I like and be happy...check, it goes on..I love it!!
11. Not heard much of their stuff, but Yup...that I like
12.
Little Wonder
HA!!! good luck with that one
13. The little hiccup everytime she breathed in grated on me quite quickly, apart from that it was a quirky little song. wow 3 Q's in one sentence!
14.
Thats a lot of time to prepare, how'd it go ?

PMSL :-)
I snorted so loud I got dirty looks from the girls at the other end of the office!!
15. At Fox and Hounds in Stony Stratford friday night, just after Xmas, was expecting it to be quiet, and halfway through 1st set wasn't disappointed, then we hit a new (for us) Stones number and people started streaming in from the other bar and the place rocked until we finally got glared off by the management for overrunning! great night and another return booking...I LOVE that place!
16. Its a bit quiet around Amersham/Chesham as I recall, unless things have changed in the last couple of years.
17.
Just realised you linked to a video of White Rabbit, she had been with us 2 or 3 weeks then. Video taken by my daughter on her iPhone, so please excuse the quality.
Quality was fine and the performance was ace...could hear the bass better than that other clip too
18. Saw a mates band finish with the punked up version of 'I'm a believer' á la the end of Shrek, to a hells angel crowd, they went mental on the dance floor, one of the memories that will always stay with me We'll do whole lotta rosie, or maybe Saturday nights alright for fighting depending on whether the crowd are singing or dancing.
19.
I still chuckle to myself when I remember that first meeting (our kitchen, my mother in law lives with us), and the look on the faces of the rest the band the first time she sang with us! She still makes the hairs in the back of my neck stand on end when she sings, even in rehearsals that voice is still mindblowing.
Her voice here is fookin' amazing, lucky you are......still cant work out the music stand though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPZr59edD_E
20. We use fingerprint recognition to sign in to some of our sites, the guy setting it up for me was pulling his hair out trying to find a finger that worked, ended up with both thumbs, I do get weird looks from everyone else though.
21. Forgot all about this..well done you, at least 1 basschatter got lucky
22.
Buy a clear one and print your own background.
If you gonna go that route, ask TimAl http://www.originalscratchplates.com/ He is a member here and his rates ain't too bad.
23. Keep going fella, those calluses soon harden up, and it all feels a bit easier
