1. [sup]Blimey..1st time I've ever won anything, apart from a tenner on the lottery years ago![/sup] [sup]Thanks to all those that voted, I never realised I was such an artist........[/sup] [sup]Real pic of plate on a bass...hmmm I think I can sort that out sometime soon [/sup]
2. Can't believe no one has voted for Shergold's 'scratch' plate yet, I love the pun inherent in that
3. Was I the only on thinking a red ? on a red P WAS the Jellyfish entry? Looks kinda cool I think.
4.
That's not cricket!
Cricket? I know my bass is a bit of a plank but really?
5. I'll just put up our setlist and be done with it! Smoke on the Water Born to be Wild Wishing Well Can't Get Enough were the 1st ones I thought of
6. Wow..as first (or maybe 2nd) posts go...that's a doozy! Welcome, you'll fit in just fine
7. I've frequented several PMT stores over the years, Cambridge, Manchester, Brum, Northampton, that I can recall, and, apart from the 'let me slap the bejaysus outta that bass for 5 mins before I let you hold it' attitude which is prevalent anywhere nowadays I thought they were great, I've been allowed to pick my amp/cab combination from what is there, and been left to noodle for as long as I like. Only once did it not result in a sale, and that was when I realised how heavy a Tbird really is!
8.
I've always been impressed with the bass sound at Gabriel gigs. I was expecting good things of the PG So back to front tour and went to the LG Arena yesterday. The bass was too low in the mix and lacked middle, making it indistinguishable most of the time as it was trying to compete with drums and keyboard sounds. When Mr Levin picked up the Stick, you couldn't hear that at all. Very disappointed with the low end
I was there too, beat me too the punch. Love listening to Tony Levin, but from where I was sat all I could hear was mushy thump from the drums..Mind you it suited Biko as the encore song perfectly!
9. Well I def know the keys player!
10. All this damn overhyping of Christmas is turning us into a nation of Scrooges...bah humbug! Boycott the lot of em I say!

12. The images prior to being glued down on the front

15.
Is there not such a person on here who did the Batman bass, I think still in the F/S section? I soppose it depends how you are defining pop-art.
Yeah TimAl, and he is currently doing a steampunk P for me http://basschat.co.uk/topic/247112-scratch-it-original-scratchplates-pickguards-to-your-design/page__p__2586542__hl__timal__fromsearch__1#entry2586542 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/239002-sold-holy-cow-its-another-bat-bass/page__p__2477864__hl__timal__fromsearch__1#entry2477864
16. Hey dude welcome aboard..you know what you've let yourself in for right? Strap, I would say a Levy suede on is the dogz bitz, had mine over 12 years still going strong. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Levys-Suede-Leather-Guitar-Strap/dp/B000XPNYPK/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1415450091&sr=8-11&keywords=levy+strap Well worth splashing out on Oh and get strap locks of some kind, so much better than a damaged bass! Personally I prefer Schaller ones but other types are available http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=schaller
17. You came HERE? Are you mad? You know what its like here right? Welcome anyway!!
18. Body sanded back and original headstock logo sanded off, headstock tinted slightly to give an aged look to the finished article.
19. oops I forgot to remove the tuners and the strap buttons, I hope Tim still has em!
20. With apologies to Waynepunkdude for nicking his title. I present my very 1st bass, An Indonesian Squier P/J, which over the next few weeks, with lots of input from TimAl (who's doing all the hard work) will hopefully be transformed into a steampunk/War of the Worlds themed monster! here she sits, stripped back and ready for Tim to go to work, there have been other threads recently on the exact process, all I know is Tim sticks on pages from a graphic novel I came across that I liked, adds a custom pickguard and headstock logo. I'll add the electrics and then......we shall see.
