1. yay a happy ending and all in the 1 evening too!
2. Maplins would be a good place to start http://www.maplin.co.uk/search?text=knobs&x=0&y=0# Anything there take your fancy?
3. Its a rechargeable unit that goes in the same cavityas the pots, you charge it by plugging the charger into the instrument jack socket. Obviously you cant charge and play at the same time, but since you have a 'passive' mode if battery goes flat mid gig its not the end of the world.
4. Tnx for the updates guys, I bit the bullet and went for a b3 on Friday, just waiting for delivery now, Dave you post came up not long after I committed, your timing is TERRIBLE!!! edit for arsey spelling
5. Tickled me pink when a drummer mate bunged it on YT earlier...great fun
6. Thanks for all the replies guys, Paul S, thats the sort of thing I was hoping for, setting up 3 of 4 'sounds' and using the foot switch to cycle through em. Bit of a bummer about the bad tuner though, my B9 is pretty good for tuning. Lozz, good point about the DI, I always like that backup option, looks like a B3 might be the way to go. *heads off to for sale section*
7. Much as I would like to add something to the debate........ all I can say in my present inebriated state is....... I saw em at Knebworth...'kin great I say...LOVE perfect strangers!!!! *falls down drunk*
8.
London metal band DIREVARGS are seeking a lead guitarist and bass player! We are a dedicated and proactive band looking to launch ourselves to an international audience (and beyond) in this coming year.
and beyond eh?, entertaining the probes on Mars maybe?
9. Gareth took my John East J retro off me and almost threw the money at me, good communication at all times, top fella!
10. Hmmmm, can you set a 'default' sound then use the footswitch to dial in another sound? Tnx for the info.
11. Guys, I just saw the other thread re the M60B and it got me thinking. I currently have a B9.1ut, which I am quite happy with, apart form the fact its HUGE! Having had it about a year I have managed to condense everything down to about 4 good sounds I use on a regular basis. The expression pedal is useful, but I have decided, not actually essential. So what I need is a pedal that I can pre set with 3 or 4 distinct sounds and is easily switchable between them, and a tuner setting. From what I have read, both the B3 and the M60B do this, so I need your input to help me decide. Enlighten me if you please
12. I currently have the B9.1ut, which is a nice piece of kit, but its HUGE. I'm toying with swapping it out for a B3 or an M60B, and I'm hoping for some opinions. I really only use the B9 for 3 or maybe 4 discrete effects, the expression pedal set for volume is handy but not essential, the tuner function is great. The selling point for the B9 for me was the addition of the valve in the preamp to add a bit of grit to the sound, but its not really that noticable. So which way should I go, B3 or M60B? Cheers
13.
The neons have duff G strings as well. Plus they die after about 2 gigs, faster than uncoated strings. Oh and the coating comes off and makes a mess of your fretboard and hardware.
Wow how hard do you play?? I've had neons on my 4 string for nearly 4 years now, and only just starting to flake a bit on the E string where I use the pick (not often I grant you, mainly fingerstyle player) Admittedly I hate 'bright' string sounds anyway, but to go through a set in 2 gigs? wow!
14. I've had 2 sets of green neons, on my 4 and 5 string yams and they've been great, had em on for aaaages too, seems like its mainly the black beauties.
15. Only on a bass forum, could you find guitarists asking is 15w too much, no chance of that on a guitarists forum I fancy!
16. My 1st thought was a Rumble and I see I'm the third to mention this...makes it conclusive I reckon!
17. I got a Jazz and slung a John East pre in it, loved it for a while, but my Yam kept calling me back, played the Jazz at a rehearsal about a year ago and HATED the sound it was giving me, couldn't dial in anything that suited, was lusting after a Nate Mandel but ended up with a mother of pearl flavour MiM which is my 'go to' at the moment, keep meaning to sell the Jazz but hasn't quite happened yet. The Yam still calls to me though.

CURVED AIR

Great gig last night, new album is full of proggy goodness and the guys made a brilliant job of reproducing it live. Also aired some of my favourite songs, from Air Cut, and even my good lady who came along for the ride, enjoyed herself immensely (prog not really her thing)
19. [sup]I reckon it sounds a whole heap better at that speed.[/sup]
