1.
Bassist can play cowbell on this , nowt else to do at the beginning
Yup thats what I do, drummer for some reason can't get the cowbell rythmn and the drum pattern going at the same time. Does this mean I'm a drummer?
2.
I figured out that a Jazz Bass, with a John East retro pre amp, can do everything I (and probably most other bassists) need a bass to do.
I got meself a Jazz, and bunged a John East in, loved the tone. Turned up at a rehearsal 9 months later and couldn't get a decent sound out of it for love nor money despite batt changes, knob twiddling, even swapped my amp out. Its been gathering dust ever since, which I'm really miffed at, I look at it and I just don't feel the love any more *sigh* I've even gone off maple necks cos its got one....fickle or what? I think I might bung up for sale on here
3. Dava control picks for me http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dava-Control-Tips-Combo-Pack-Picks/dp/B003NX2P0E/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1390376564&sr=8-10&keywords=dava+control+pick Blagged one off a guitarist a few years ago, and never looked back, nice and grippy so I dont squeeze so tight, I used to get cramp when pick playing. I'm not a natural pick player and like others only use em for a couple of songs a night. last ages too, bought my last pack of 6 about 2 years ago, and still got 4!
4. just blagged Paul's Boss E20 vocal gizmo for a steal, he's a great fella and can out talk me which takes some doing! you can deal with him with no worries.
5. LMAO! I like the idea of the harmonies too, as I am usually tempted to just follow the singer (BV's only), replied to your PM.
6. Could def be interested if the pitch shifter does as it should, I tend to sing flat and it annoys the hell outta me. any comments before I say yes?
7. Well THAT's different, made me smile though.....as a beard wearer
8.
All my bandmates have to say is, 'Oi, Jaco... what the f*ck??'
You have a whole band that knows who Jaco is? WOW! Closest my lot ever got was Jackie Pallo
9. A little bit of flaking on the E where I pick, but the coating is still intact apart from that, they sound just the same as the day I fitted em, which may be 'dead' to some ears, but to me, its perfect!
10. Still got mine on after 3 years, great strings with a tone I love, and ALWAYS a talking point at gigs
11. Christmas gig we did, I hated it front start to finish, nothing felt right, I perceived the looks going round the band to be those of worry. Post gig, crowd loved us, landlord payed us over the odds cos he was so happy, band were all smiles, no one could cite any issues, I had a list a mile long, maybe it IS just us?
12. Ronnie James.....Oh Wait.........! Damn he's good, I hate im.
13. Met up with a few of you now due to buying/selling stuff plus the last bassbash, and to a man everyone has been friendly and most agreeable. I love this place!
14. Blimey, I've had stuff from them in the past, luckily never asked them to do a repair!
15. Waste of money in my opinion.................................well you DID ask!
16. Love the paintjob, not so happy with the Jacksonesque pointy headstock
17. Interesting, I bunged some SPB-3's in my Mex P, what would be the difference between these and the SPB-1 (or SPB-2 for that matter)
18. Good reading there. It seems there are more silly people than I remember, or multiple answererererers.....or geese.
19. Why is it they are ALWAYS selling on behalf of a friend?? Dodgy if you ask me.
20. Mmmm yellow Bass, I could rock summat like that ...great job dude, and very thoughtful for an Xmas Prezzie!
21.
They do look good . Is that black Yam the four string version of my BBG5S, awesome bass if it is, I need to sell mine as I don't use 5's anymore, I haven't played it in 3 or 4 years
Yup Sure is, S2 in fact, and the best bass in my stable, I love that thang, got it dirt cheap, cant put it down, lovely tone, just what I want. The TRB 5 next to it comes close though. I think I just Love Yams
