1.
"I don't want to live forever - but apparently I am" - Lemmy, Motorhead, Ace of Spades (live version)
There is no finer line anywhere, thread closed move along now!
2. Buzzing sounds like a bad earth/return connection somewhere, check all connections including those to the jack socket.
3. Since I first started playing in 2003, about 80, the majority of which were with my current band, we average 2 a month, which is just comfortable. earlier bands were a bit more hit...or usually miss I have so much fun with current fellows, it makes it all worthwhile!
4. Seriously loving that Spocks Beard track!
5. You're right...it sounds weird. Although please bear in mind I can't see the video at work, so have NO idea what you mean!
6. I like playing with 2 guitarists, they can trade licks and harmonise á la Thin Lizzy, and things just seem more dynamic than when I played in a single guitar band.
7. Interesting read, especially as I just bought myself a set of Jazz 77 flats yesterday, not had a chance to fit em yet, new territory for me though, so quite excited!
8. Played a new place for us in Rickmansworth on Sat, landlord Jim a no nonsense Leeds boy who loves his rock so we blew the roof off for him! Luckily pub is up for a re-furb in 3 weeks!!! Got a repeat booking post refurb and praises from many of the locals, life don't get much better than this oh and its a Greene King pub too, Abbott Ale...mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Just a shame I had to drive home.
9. Just dipping my toes into fretless too, since getting that neck off dave V, gotta say I am enjoying meself hugely at moment. Cant see me gigging it until at least a coupla band rehearsals though!
10. Whatever works I reckon, I combine B and C and it sounds just fine to me!
11. Ok so my question SHOULD have read, what are the best flats for [s]metal[/s] newbie
12. Thanks for the replies, I was just a bit worried the original strings might chew up the fretboard, so I guess my query should have been a bit more specific, are flats kinder to fretless boards? I've never used flatwounds before so have no idea
13. I think this counts as a technical issue, I blagged a cheapo fretless neck from Dave Vader (Cheers Dave its spot on) which I am bunging onto an old Squier P. Its my first foray into fretless and I have NO idea what sort of strings I should be putting on, all comments and tips welcome Cheers folks!
14. I lent Gav my copy of Senna DVD, and got some Jaffa tape back as a result, unexpected and most welcome, nice guy!!
15. Got his no name fretless neck in post, beautifully wrapped and labelled, decent price and kept in the loop via regular PM's top lad, just a shame he lives so far away, pint and a chat would have been spot on!
16. Probably a silly question, but, are you fingernails short enough? for some reason my middle fingernail grows faster than my index, so I very quickly get an uneven sound when alternating fingers, middle finger sounds very 'picky'....just a thought
17. Newb question, would a MIM pickup be much of an improvement over an Indonesian Squier standard fit? I need a Jazz bridge Pup too! cheers
18. *jaw hits floor* I'm jealous
19.
Radar Love.
Ooooh yeah thats another goodie!!, At our last gig, after the drum solo, and before the bass bit, I threw in a couple of bars of The Chain seeing as it was British GP weekend, seemed to go down well, had to transpose to B though, to fit it in!
20. I have a set, took the neck one off though, just kept getting in the way. Love the look of them
