1. He's been posted on here before. Did you see the clip of him at The Bass Gallery?
2. May see if I can find a copy of the Bjork album just to provide a change from the dance stuff I normally listen to. I really liked his comment about her imagination - that is probably what characterises the good from the bad in music for me.
3. Would pay to see some Barefaced Wadgery.
4.
I'm sorry... 'wadgery' isn't a word. However, I do know what you mean by it.
Shakespeare made stuff up all the time and got away with it...are you saying I'm not as good as Shakespeare?
5. Too bad you aren't staying at Buckinghams. Amazing food, I shared many a long conversation with the owner who is a Master Chef.
6. Have a load of 4 stringers for classic tones and the 6 for technical wadgery. But I mostly play the Spector 5 and switch to the other 5's when I fancy a change.
7. I think he has the quintessential P-bass tone. Fat and mellow.

Low morale?
I can't poo
Make like an accountant.
11. That the wood you used is very old probably counts for a lot. The stuff I've seen in Myanmar was VERY oily and, to be frank, didn't need finishing apart from sanding. But sounded dead to me and very heavy. Not the best tonewood from observation. Good to know that it needs so much drying time though.
12. Had my eye on one of these for a while back in 2008. That you have one without the fingerboard delamination issues should make it doubly valuable!
13.
I'm on a sex ban until I get this holiday booked, help a man out here
Er...
14. LOL Girl power! This kind of spontaneity what the forum is all about.

Low morale?

Thanks everyone, keep it coming. I wondered whether people were simply fed up with how the recession has carried on and on and on. Just when things take a turn for the better, something happens in Europe. OT does have a request in it about politics etc. we've tended to let those threads run unless insults get exchanged. This was basically in the interests of letting other kinds of discussions happen so people can get to know each other a bit better.

Low morale?

In the last 4 weeks or so, I've noticed more contentious topics being posted and more threads getting locked. If this was a workplace, I'd suggest morale was down. What's going on out there in Basschat land, eh? Can anyone shed any light? What's happened to the daftness that used to permeate this place? Talk to us, people.
17. I'm having to address this as part of recovery planning at work. Turning down sales because they're more hassle that they're worth is about as sensible as slashing government budgets to the bare minimum and ignoring the potential income from enhanced exports. Gone are the days when retailers could be lazy and rely on a constant, minimum stream of customers to support the overheads. Now, every customer has to be fought for now. Particularly for tech because purchasing decisions are made differently compared to something customers need to try before they buy, like basses. There are alternative business models but they're a little bit more complex and sophisticated. Retailers have a choice - adapt or close.

19. Nice looking instrument Yanni and Stavros. I've never seen a bass made with teak. How would you describe it in comparison to better known woods?
20. A number of us have had the pleasure of playing Herbie's bass. Lovely bloke and a true gent, he even bought me a pint! Welcome to the forum.
21. Its possible we were under attack last night. We also had a number of no-name accounts registered at the same time. The cloud message is the security service we started using last month. If the site is under attack the forum may go offline briefly while the service learns what is going on and restores the forum.
22. Mazda EC833's in the preamp section normally Nick. KT77's in the power amp section.
