1. The only ones I can claim are Cherie Blair at her hairdressers civil partnership ceremony...and Craig Revell Horwood at a charidee gig.
2. IIRC they trademarked their headstock design it's difficult to prove in a court that something is identical when there's a small change and then translate that small change into a $ value unless trademarking/copyright protection is used which establishes a set of legal principles which can be referred to
3. Nice! First Cutlass II home-made I've seen. No doubt it plays better than the real thing! Good luck with the sale.
4. I believe the copyright/trademark protection on Fender has expired?
5. Wow love that fingerboard. I'd have this in a flash if I could sell my sunburst Spector.
6.
I consider myself the ideal professional. I treat my fellow band members, audience and crew members with the respect that they deserve as fellow music lovers.
"Get out."
7. Indeed, but it sets a bad example nevertheless. The last thing the music business needs is yet more deluded prima donnas filled with an overwhelming sense of their self importance...oh wait, without them, there probably wouldn't be a music business. I stand corrected. Speaking of which, I also need to do a wee edit.
8. Hank? FWIW he could assume less about the individual reading the message and make the effort to learn how to spell dubious correctly. Otherwise he just comes across as a pompous c*ck. Seriously, if there's a problem, he needs to deal with it 1:1 not post lazy, dumb ass messages to an imaginary audience at large.

Pearl OC-07

Stop posting. Pearls are a basschat secret.
10. Me. Although I'd be upset if any of my instruments had beer spilled on them or were stolen, regardless of the value.
11. Beyond a certain point I would make my own. In fact I hope to do that sometime next year. Have just discovered a stunning species of wood which looks like quilted maple but apparently has the tonal character of mahogany. Not cheap for the fancy stuff but I'm reeeeeeeal curious...
12. Nothing surprises me any more. Once American bass players get hyped about something, common sense seems to go out the window. I've played a Fodera Imperial and an MG and they were nice basses but sounded a little sterile. In terms of build quality they were very good but not two thousand quid better than a Sei, Smith or Shuker. OK so they season their necks for years after being laminated but that doesn't justify the cost. At that level its mostly about image I think. So, yer pays yer money...
13. I'm in the same boat. Warm and hugely growly with a nice bit of crispness...and its versatile. The only basses I've bought in the last three years are another Spector (which does the same trick) and the Steiny (which was on my bucket list). The only way I can think of improving is to make my own bass and see if I can achieve the same.
14. Just love the sound of well programmed rnb/dance pop act like Beyonce, Kylie, Prince, Alicia Keys or Destiny's Child brought to life by a well rehearsed band. It's the absolute nuts for me.
