1.
Seal.
+1 but to be honest, you'd be playing for Trevor Horn if you were doing Seals best years.
2. I have to agree with the majority of touch typists here. I can do it and it doesn't help my playing one bit.
3. Thats what late 80's Rays are all about. Nice bass.
4. I would love to play for the James Taylor Quartet, Prince, Louis Benedetti or the Sunburst Band but suspect I'd only disappoint them. Have to make do with Kylie I guess.
5. shame you're not splitting, I'd be interested in the 2x10 neo
6.
I think a "great" bass, is one that you connect with. Which is something where i think the price tag doesn't really come into it, though if you find some £200 Made in Korea bass which your really dig but say some build quality or finishing quality issues show, or its just old and battered and needs to be retired after years of service, a "high end" version with similat to identical specs makes sense, (If that post makes sense!) But in the end the "greatness" is in the feel, not in the price IMHO
+1 Still prefer my 650 quid used spector for sound and feel to all the other basses.
7.
America doesn't work.
Do you mean American culture? I percieve it spans the gamut of human experience. I don't believe its possible or wise to generalise.
8.
I think the op was trying making a point - I don't know what point as I don't frequent TB - I would guess that there have been a few really dumb questions/polls of late.
The point I perceive being made is 'look at me'.
9. I like SS Steve, it doesn't matter to me if he's percieved as putting it on. I've got his first CD and yes its a little lack lustre in places which is disappointing. However thats the style he plays and he doesn't seem to me to be anything other than he is... ...EVEN if that risks appearing lack lustre. Besides which you can't blame him for surfing the wave of popularity while it lasts any more than Lady Gaga.
10. All the benefits of older instruments but none of the disadvantages?
11. nah, thats a bargain. Someone pull the trigger.
12. Hmmm, I wonder if it would work with my Shuker and its GHOST pre and midi sensors...
13. He's always over stretched in my experience. He probably wouldn't have it any other way
14. LOL I just need a strat body rescuing. It's been 2 years and he doesn't appear to be returning my emails. I'm just hoping some kind person out there might be willing to collect and package it up for me...all costs paid for. I'll organise a courier if its collectable during the day.
15.
You should have gotten the one where he flashes his arse. That would have the rest running to save their eyes
I confess I haven't followed him THAT closely...
16. This dude says "come on tough guy...if u hard enough".
17. I've got Gilmour playing fretless on Big Bottom with Spinal Tap on DVD at the Secret Policemen's Ball
18. John said he'd agreed an endorsement so perhaps it was a done deal?
19. DUDE YOU HAVE ONE OF THE LEGENDARY JACO FRETLESSES!!!
20. If so, and you'd be willing to do me a favour, could you please drop me a PM?
21. Could anyone who has a GA24 give me the body width? I have a vague recollection its something like 15"?
22. I posted this on my facebook profile the other day. Its way cool, I still think they look like they've been thrown out of Dexy's Midnight Runners for being overdressed though.
