2.
I think of each beat as a cyclical form - imagine a clock where the second hand completes a full circle every beat, with the beat dead on 12. Playing ahead of the beat would be hitting a note at say, 10 o'clock. Playing behind would be hitting it at 2 o'clock. Obviously the exact point you hit the note would vary depending on the feel you wanted to go for in the song.
Good god man, have you been reading my posts? The way I see it, there's a 'pocket' which is however far in front or behind the beat you can get away with without totally ballsing up the rest of the band. I tend to play on the beat but prefer to play behind. Forcing yourself to stay as far behind as possible is bloody difficult to do consistently. As challenging as any widdling exercise (IMO).
3. I think you might be right. Would be fairly easy to get that sound with his Yammie 1010.

9.
Like on a violin or double bass? Surely without frets it is called a fingerboard.
+1 shows over.
10. So it didn't sell on Finnbass then Tom?
11. Hi Shep, would you mind sending me his email address?
12. Boost around 25Hz, use a 2x15 or equivalent and a 4x10 or 2x10, ensure the pickups on the bass have a peak around 25-60Hz, use an Akai Unibass?

17. You're talking a language I don't understand However if I were to respond in project managment speak, I'd suggest that you were focussing on a solution before we'd defined what the scope of the brief was.
18.
You're not talking about cloaking though are you?
You've lost me, I'm afraid. Are you interested in applying?

Sorry Garry, I didn't see your post. Thanks for that! Yes on the whole life is pretty good. Hopefully will get better when my boss goes on maternity leave...
20. You'll all be taking a laptop as a luxury along with a satellite modem to ensure you can keep in touch with Basschat, so if you buy a copy of Native Instruments Guitar Rig Kontrol you can use the pedal space for something else.
21. How low can you make the action?
