I've not heard of anyone doing this before. Are these finishes compatible?

I'm not sure about the UK but this phenomenon is known in NZ planning as 'reverse sensitivity' and is not generally recognised as a valid objection to nuisance.

If you have ever owned a MM Cutlass bass, you will understand intimately why graphite necks can benefit from truss rods. There is also the matter of player set up preferences. Some players like a bit of fight in their instruments and a rounder tone, all of which can be provided by higher action.

Should be possible technically. I have someone who does the 3D modelling. But it would require a custom mold so would be a custom order. Yes, but my main concern is keeping costs down so I'll be talking to some friends in the UK who used to handle my wife's Ebay merchandise. They'll expect compensation but I'm hoping it will be less than warehousing, which has been already mentioned. And shipping surface takes longer but the costs are significantly less so maybe that will be an option if I get to the point where I'm confident of selling a batch of necks speculatively.

Technically it's possible but for a batch of two, the costs would be a bit higher.

I've been working on a pedalboard for the last ten years on and off that allows me to play two synth lines simultaneously, one manual and one arpeggiated off the first note in each bar sampled by a modified EHX Freeze pedal. The idea was mostly inspired by this Freemasons track: This is what synthbass is all about for me. Bombastic, pumping and jubilant. When I had the EHX into the Moment Machine and then arpeggiated into the C4 AND a manual line through the FI, I wore the biggest shit eating grin in decades. It worked so long as I could time the sampling to grab the right note, otherwise I wouldn't have been persisting for quite so long. A single pedal that could achieve all that with tap tempo (ideally without needing to press a button to sample every bar) would be a god send.

Apparently, yes. But I couldn't find enough information to confirm it does exactly what I want. For example, zero pitch steps (pauses) and sufficient ADSR between steps so two steps of the same pitch don't blend into each other. Also getting some punchy attack helps with the analogue feel to the synth sounds too. The step blending has been a problem with the Cooper FX Moment Machine and the Eventide Pitchfactor (both of which I still have). I'm wondering whether the H90might also have the same issue with blended steps. I also have purchased an Alexander Pedals Colour Theory earlier in the year which I'm investigating but the UI isn't ideal for complex editing, however the designer is responsive so I might bounce ideas off him too. Failing that I'll probably get an SY200 like Al and draw a line under the whole expensive exercise.

No the C4 doesn't provide it as a feature and I reached out to suggest it to them. As QM says, it can be triggered from MIDI but so can the FI AFAIK. The SA dev team discussed an arp and thought it was a good idea but the pedal didn't have room for the code, so it's been relegated into development hell I guess. I'm half tempted to reach out to Mooer over here and see if their dev team might like to have a go at it.

I recall suggesting one. Quite useful for covers bands.

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to allow for those and customers would end up paying them regardless, even if I had sufficient volume in sales to justify UK based warehousing. Another option would be to bring a stock of necks over personally as checked baggage but the quantities would be limited and I could only do it during a public holiday here in China (Late January, August and, at a pinch, first week in October). Update: Shipping... I've spent the last day reaching out to various shipping companies. My regular guy quoted me 2000RMB (over 200 quid) to express UPS ship to the UK in 4-6 days. I said 'no'. Another company has offered 390RMB for the same delivery based on some BS volumetric/weight calculation. However, it made me wonder if I could combine two necks in a single shipment but then the reciever would have to make sure one neck got to it's respective owner. If two BCers are open to collaborating it could slash the shipping charges in half.

My Classic 5 is: Nut width: 44.1mm Neck depth at nut: 20.5mm 12th fret width: 60.9mm Neck depth at 12th fret: 23.8mm Heel thickness: 28.3mm Width at 21st fret: 69mm <- this might be incompatible with your SUB5 neck if it has a 22 fret neck heel. Yes. To get a firm price, I'll need to weigh the package and enter the measurements. I don't have that information to hand because I don't have the necks yet. I will supply an educated guess based on some assumptions about the weight of the neck but it will be subject to confirmation. Initial enquiries for UPS/DHL express shipping (3-5 days) are eyewatering and I've asked if there are cheaper 'priority' options. I don't know what the shipping companies are smoking but I will look into insured rail and sea as well but the shipping times will be significantly longer. Options for every neck are fingerboard focussed. Options beyond that, e.g. nut widths, number of strings etc. are going to be subject to MoQ, or the custom route is an option.

Can you provide SUB neck measurements? Nut width and depth, width and depth at 12th fret and at the heel plus heel length? I suspect there might be differences to discourage neck swapping between models but I can compare your measurements (if you have them) to my bass and we can both take a view.

This neck is based on the Classic 5 neck with measurements taken off my own bass but with a narrow nut (43mm). The photo above shows my own commission, to explore the feasibility of offering fingerboard binding at some point in the future and to demonstrate what a wooden fingerboard and custom inlays might look like. I've been told the Classic 5 neck will also fit the 21 fret USA SUB5 as well (which was a precursor to the Classic 5) but not the 22 fret Indonesian made Sterling SUB5.
