1. I'm a massive Joni fan...Mingus is on of my all time favourite albums and Hejira is a close second. I'm not normally into folky-jazzy singer songwriters but Joni is so intelligent and articulate, she can't be ignored. The Joni/Jaco collaboration was as close to pure musical magic as I've ever heard. She deserves more recognition than Bob Dylan.
2. This popped up on my Facebook feed today. http://m.noisey.vice.com/en_uk/blog/the-noisey-guide-to-eating-sh*t-food-on-tour

4. I still aspire to own another cutlass 1 but only if I can try before I buy.
5. I thought it might be his!

**SOLD**

Agree - I have one for live use. Effects pedals have come a long way in the last 20 years!
7.
The EBS microbass 2 is great, one of the inputs is optimised for piezo pickups so ideal for upright/EUB. One channel is a drive channel, however with the drive right down its still fairly clean/warm.
I was going to suggest this also. Didn't know about the piezo optimisation!
8. Now sold, thanks for all the interest.
9. Satch is still the master. Far more musically mature than Steve Vai IMO.
10. These were removed from my Shuker Headless 6 and replaced with slightly woolier sounding custom Wizards so are virtually unused. They're quad coil so can be split for single coil jazz type tones as well as humbucking mode. More information is avaliable here. Looks like they're Bartolini dimensions (118x32mm) rather than EMG. The only thing to be mindful of is that Jon trimmed the cabling to fit tightly to the pickup pan so there's always a chance they may be a little short for some two volume layouts. 11. Great sounding bass and a bargain price.
12. It's pretty easy to make a template though if you have some MDF or hard board, some straight offcuts and some strong double sided tape. The only drawback with a dremel is that the bit radiuses may be a little small to achieve the desired fillets around the pickup corners. PS: I have a Ryobi router at home but also use a multitool by Proxxon. A bit more durable than Dremels since Dremel switched production to Mexico.
13. I asked Lee Sklar whether he charged multiples of scale like, say, Will Lee. He said he doesn't. Nile Rodgers splits every collaboration 50/50 regardless of the contribution. If you look at what Nathan East has managed to work out...a million dollar home plus other properties...persumably from the success of Foreplay's touring and album sales as well as his sessions and wife's occupation as a paeditrician...he's done extremely well for himself. We used to have Kylie's keyboardist from her Fever tours dep with us and he said his pay was pretty much the same as if he was in a function band. Just that he got paid for gigging every night rather than once a week. I think its hard to tie down earnings, there are so many different potential sources from merchandising through to spin off work and marrying into the band.
14. We also covered the links between Guitar Centre and Fender in the Fender in trouble thread. It's all a bit incestuous.
15. And sold! Nice to meet you too
16.
Is there a possibility to come and try it out first?? I'd prefer to pick it up and pay cash in hand?? Some time this week perhaps?? cheers
Hi there I bought the pedal off Ebay without a box but with a US power supply about 7 years ago. It's never been gigged or had any kind of issue and is in fantastic condition. A 9v adapter will be included. Dimensions are: 140 (W) x 175 (D) x 61 (H)mm You're welcome to come and try it out this week if you can make it before the weekend. Drop me a PM and we can sort something out.
