1. Aaaah! Your last gig with a band, Al, my first (sorry no pics). A four-piece Beatlesy cover band who don't take themselves too seriously. In fact, having two 'follically challenged' members, they put on comedy wigs to do Fab Four numbers... It was a surprise 30th party for a friend of the drummer, so we had the exciting 'lights off in the bar' moment as he got out of his car and walked through the car park. Then, fortunately, lights on as I had a 30-song crib sheet to keep in line of sight. No wig-wearing , though - might have drawn the line at that!
2. I genuinely used to see OH P15 0F driving round Morden, Surrey, when a kid.
3. I think you've hit the nail on the head there Den. One pickup, one tone, four strings, the music and you. Simple!
4.
Live & Dangerous!!!! Best Live rock album ever????
Except it wasn't live...
5. Seeing as there are so many fans... I have a just released CD/DVD called 'Both Sides Of'. The DVD is recorded in Cumbria in 2007 and the DVD in Europe in 2006. Also a studio album called 'Refrigerator'. Sling me a tenner and I'll bung in the studio album 'Refrigerator' - also unplayed! Mick
6. I will get along as it's my local gig. We're due to play there four times this year! Beware of pi**ed teenagers yelling for 'Love SHack', however
7. Can't help Gary, but agree about Argus & MT. It's kinda supercharged folk rock isn't it?
8. I sat in the Festival hall at eye level with Brian a few years ago. The lights are still on these days but no-one's home!
9. Watched with a bass on my lap! Inspirational stuff...
10.
Indeed, what was that insurance company thinking of? Not many people are even going to know who it is, so they'll just think it's some half-naked nutter spouting rubbish.
You mean it ain't?
11.
That is why I thought I should add that it is not me!
Come on - this is Prog Night on BBC3 you know
12. How many of that lot will still be on telly in their 60s like Martha? Precious few, I'll warrant. Hopefully Lily will be managing her own Macdonalds by then...
13. Remember seeing them early on circa ''Nightlife and feeling they would never gel. Going back at the start of the Jailbreak tour and realising I was wrong. Meeting them backstage at Southampton Uni and Phil trying to chat up my girlfriend. Seeing them at the end of that tour @ the Hammy Odeon and realising they were no longer 'mine' but the world's. Meeting them much later at John Henry's and realising that drugs were eating away at their collective soul. Interviewing Snowy White years later and hearing how right I was! So when I rewind I'm back at Southampton Uni trying to keep Phil's paws off my woman...
14. I have an EG512C and when bought one of the clips that makes sure the electronics panel fits snugly was broken. The other has now gone and I am reduced to sticking Rizla 'shims' in to keep it secure and crossing my fingers. My question is - how easy is it to get a replacement, how much and can I do the fixing myself? Any guidance welcome.
15. Funny though isn't it - JPJ used a Jazz, Noel Redding too! My three-piece preferred the sound of a Jazz as 'more defined' but I always revert to my Pre.
16. He has a thing for unusual shapes, clearly!
