Indeed. They’re an anomaly, a band without a frontman whose drummer uses a hand-held mic to converse with the audience every third song or so. We could spend hours discussing the use of the gong…😂

Guy Pratt watch… Poole, 25/6/24. Alternated a Ricky with two Precisions, once donning a Telecaster guitar! Put a Quadrophenia bass riff into Arnold Layne and a Jam riff into See Emily Play. Did a surprising amount of lead vocals. Cued Nick Mason in numerous times, only to be repaid by the comment that ‘both bass players I have worked with have been…awkward’. All in all a solid 8 out of 10 on a night when England were decidedly missable. I would recommend Saucerful of Secrets!

Now £110 …. LAST PRICE £90 I wrote a review of this box for Record Collector late last year, having listened to it on a stream. Universal Records declined to send me a copy when it was manufactured, which was very annoying, but I managed to get one reasonably priced in Amazon France’s Black Friday sale. It has sat perfect and unopened in its shrinkwrap since arriving, but I realise I am just too busy to give it the attention it richly deserves. So I am happy to pass on my price saving to someone who will appreciate it. Below is a link to an unboxing video, but I am happy to forward my detailed rave review if you so desire. I even have an audio file of my interview with Pete Townshend, who seemed oblivious to the fact the Box Set was listed at £250😂. For peace of mind I will also send pics of my set: below is obviously a posed pic to illustrate the contents. So…10CDs and a BluRay, plus a graphic novel - it’s all there in the shrinkwrapping for you to enjoy! https://images.app.goo.gl/aEfHuVyiM857uYYc7

Transitioning from 4 to 5. Give me, please, one handy tip to help me accomplish this. Thanks!

I just love details. I am a nerd! And if, knowing the name, I saw the band were on locally I would probably go see them to give some BC support. I’d google to find out genre, if it wasn’t obvious. I have my band’s FB as my sig so people can check me out. I enjoy this thread and probably would even more if I couldn’t gig myself. EDIT Am saving Franticsmurf’s for later with a cuppa. That’s my kind of review!❤️

I remember seeing the unknown Darkness supporting Def Leppard. Couldn’t work out if they were a proper group or a Bad News type pisstake. Come to that, I still can’t…😂 -

I met one of our number today, PAJ Hartley, who is playing the Festival with Steve Young. Wonder how many chatters are there/participating? -

My second deal with this fella was as seamless as the first! Top man.

Not an EastEnder then? 😂

Geezer Butler - Into the Void (hardback, cover price £25) in close to mint condition - £10 plus £2.50 contribution towards postage. It’s a very intelligently written book by the real brains of the band - the bassist of course - told in an authentic voice. No ghost writing here. I enjoyed it, chances are you will too.

Used to be (and hopefully still is) a good venue. Glad they are putting on an originals band! Have fun.
