  1. I shall be watching… unbelievably for the first time! Anyone else a Tap ‘virgin’?!😁
  2. Who are you calling elephant ears!?😁
  3. Played a mini pub festival in Barton on Sea, Hampshire. Country-themed, hence the hay bales, but we blagged ourselves in as blues/Americana. Forgot my Stetson but went walkabout with my wireless so it would probably have blown/fallen off! Elf and two Barefaced One10s more than adequate… I bring the second out once a year! It’s possibly the only time I have ever had a view of the Isle of Wight from the stage. (Pic taken while setting up). What could be better? Oh, and our dep drummer breezed it. Happy days!
  4. Chunky new 400-page book listing more than 500 fascinating flip sides that will have you glued to YouTube for days. ‘Truly fascinating…a parallel history of pop itself.’ Pete Paphides Don’t be fooled by ‘pop’. Subjects range from the Jesus and Mary Chain via Donna Summer, Blur and ELP to Black Sabbath. New and unread copy £12 posted to UK … Now £5
  5. Are you a Stone Roses or Guns n’Roses tribute?
  6. I have to say there are some pretty weird Proms this year. Why?! Just why?
  7. Good choices, Pete. As it happens, I was at a wedding yesterday where the Springsteen song lyrics was a major part of the bride’s father’s speech! God Only Knows always brings a lump to my throat as I recall playing it live a few weeks before my first wife died. Lyrics with such depth…
  8. You play with a smile on your face. That is a good look, one I strive to emulate!
  9. First dep in 12 years deserves a tip of the hat!👏
  10. Sad story, Pete. Got into BR in 1973 when Takin My Time was found in an LP bargain bin. Was equally taken by Freebo, who currently plays with Alice Howe and is a fretless player to note.
  11. I was lucky enough to attend that, at Stoke Newington Town Hall circa 2014. Wondered when they’d repeat. Great band, and Hutch the bass player is no slouch.
  12. I have played this, and can’t quite believe @knicknack is parting with it!!!

We are on a roll now - perfect transaction number three! Wholeheartedly recommend this Basschatter. M
  14. This is exactly my practice and, often, gig rig. Very handy indeed!
  15. Still enjoying my Flea bass as we (Otis Jay Blues Band) celebrated ten years of Southbourne Ales, the beer brewed at Poole Hill brewery in Bournemouth this Sunday afternoon. The Trace Elf/Barefaced One10 combination really seems to sing with this particular instrument - drummer and guitarist have expressed a preference over other passive Fenders and active Sandberg. So better keep them satisfied. 😀 The singer is in his own world…and as you can see from my expression I am not impressed by the music stand!
  16. Super smooth sale of CDs - recommended Basschatter! 👍
  17. Sold Ben a CD set. He is a gent and is totally recommended!
