A relatively new member but a most welcome one! Sold Mark a book with no problem on either side, would recommend unreservedly for sales or trades.

Only ask cos our singer went to Japan for a few months and we kept things going surprisingly well. It can be a good experience.

Sells for anything from £57 to £99. Yours for just £35! Now includes postage STRANGER IN TOWN - A DEL SHANNON COMPENDIUM This 302-track 12 CD set is a compendium of the entirety of Del Shannon’s career, from his hits in the early 60s, via his mid-60s recordings with Andrew Loog Oldham, to his 70s and 80s recordings with Tom Petty and Mike Campbell, as well as Jeff Lynne and Dave Edmunds. It also includes all of his mid-80s “Nashville Sessions” recordings, most of which are issued for the first time, plus b-sides, demos and a further eight previously unreleased tracks. The 28 page booklet features photos and ephemera, plus extensive annotation by Alan Robinson. This set contains all of Del’s UK hits, eight of which reached the Top Ten, including the #1 hit “Runaway”, “Hey! Little Girl” and “The Swiss Maid” (both #2 hits), and “Keep Searchin' (We'll Follow the Sun)”, which reached #3. Also included are Del’s recordings of two Lennon/McCartney songs (“From Me To You” and “A World Without Love”). Del was the first US act to record a Beatles cover version, and later covered the Rolling Stones’ “Under My Thumb”. Also included is his song “Sister Isabelle”, later covered by Frank Black & Teenage Fanclub for a John Peel session. Del Shannon was, without doubt, one of the most gifted and distinctive of musical talents to emerge in the immediate pre-‘British Invasion’ era of American Pop. His was a talent that travelled well – indeed, his UK and European fanbase proved far more loyal and his success in those territories of greater longevity than in his native USA. Moreover, he was also much admired by successive generations of musicians, including the likes of George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young.

Anyone gigging in Derby tomorrow night or can recommend a band/venue? Frustratingly we are across the road from the Flowerpot but it’s sold out!

My fingers: 67 years and counting… 🖐️

Warning: this thread may turn into an episode of Casualty without warning! Good point, but I felt it was an effort getting through at the time so guess I wasn’t surprised at the subsequent soreness.
-
Maybe I play too hard to be heard with the passive bass and ease up when I have an active volume boost to hand?

Played two sets of blues with the Otis Jay Blues Band in our favourite club. Regret selecting the 71 Precision with flats over the Sandberg VM4 with rounds. My fingers feel very sensitive this morning! Guest sax and vocalist worked well. In some ways our temporary lineup has worked better than the original- singer/harmonica player has been away for two months.

Last time i saw him with Wilko the sound was atrocious. Don’t think his stack was DI’d properly so got only a trebly clank my side of stage. Fingers crossed that was a one off. -
Who are you? Wish people would identify their bands😬

You could just have quoted the immortal JL: ‘Well, can't you just let it ring a little longer, longer, longer…’
-
Ironically longer than Kelly Groucutt, eh? 👏

I think one’s response might depend to some extent on the price of the ticket? Has a band ever faced the wrath of the trades descriptions act? 😁
