  1. I had one, scored from eBay for £280! The slab body annoyed me more than anything, so prefer the CV.
  2. A good one to have for venues where fan noise is neither here nor there!
  3. Their new album (first for many years) is exceptional.
  4. Sonic is alive, well and gigging on (appropriately) Friday! ❤️
  5. Eric Clapton first album 4CD box set (50th Anniversary) Brand new, still sealed. Contains book with rare photos. £25 posted UK, list price (if you can get it) £44 Dire Straits - On Track book New and unread. £8.99 posted. List price £14.99
  6. Let you into a secret - the Eagles have always sounded like their records on anything I’ve seen. Loved em, but as exciting live as watching wet Dulux... YMMV!
  7. Managed RCA Records among other things. Bassist the brains of the band? Surely not!😈
  8. They sacked their bass player Craig Logan. That’s when I left the fan club...
  9. Just recorded an album with Caravan, don’t know if he will tour with them though.
  10. Whichever way you look at it, it’s a pink torpedo-up... 😆
  11. Don’t know the answer but I m fairly sure I saw his instruments auctioned off a few years ago so assume he has retired. Classy player and, from your remarks John, a classy guy.
  12. Blockheads this week retired from touring… Great memories… BLOCKHEAD ANNOUNCEMENT AUGUST 2021 Regretfully we have to announce that, due to deteriorating and ongoing health issues affecting key band members, exacerbated by the current crisis, it is no longer possible for the band to continue LIVE work at the intensity and regularity they have been for the past 45 years. Following medical advice we have instructed our agents and promotors that we have no option but to cancel all shows for the foreseeable future. Until such times as these pervading problems can be addressed and resolved we cannot now consider taking the risk of exposing vulnerable BLOCKHEAD immune systems to the rigours and stresses of ‘the road’. You, our fans, have been loyal, supportive and magnificent throughout not only the glory days with Ian but also, more importantly, in the years following his death in March 2000. Your help, encouragement and dedication to Blockhead identity by regularly attending shows and purchasing our merchandise has enabled the band to continue to write, record and perform as a unique and independent entity for 20 years. There will remain a truly special place in our hearts for all Honorary Blockhead Members whose continuous support, from the memberships’ inception to the present day, has been exceptional and inspiring and, without doubt, nurtured the band through difficult times. We have all travelled the decades together. You have watched us, and we have seen you, grow from young and glamorous to older and wiser. By exposing and introducing our music and lyrics to consecutive generations you have established a place for us as influencers in the musical history of the U.K. For this we will be forever grateful, both personally and professionally. BLOCKHEADS LTD, the company under which The Blockheads band has traded since 2001, has been reliant on the revenue generated by regular live appearances for its existence. In light of these unfolding circumstances this is no longer tenable and in order to preserve the integrity of the company, during this hiatus, our immediate future sustainability will now rely on subscription based platforms like PATREON (https://www.patreon.com/theblockheads) where we can deliver to you performances and rarities from our archive and links, chats and invites to all Blockhead associated projects. The band intend to continue to explore ways to play live and reach out to fans by using the technology available and sourcing a dedicated venue/venues from which to operate in a more established setting. Going forward, treatments and recoveries permitting, the band intend to make themselves available for appearances at selected events in 2022. A less hectic and more achievable goal under present circumstances. Thank you for all your messages of concern and support Mick Gallagher … for The Blockheads
  13. Never met him but dealt with him (a pleasure, of course) and always enjoyed his little messageboard interjections. Welling up as I type - we can’t afford to lose characters like Martin. RIP.
  14. I have met a drummer I enjoy playing with (albeit only one rehearsal as yet). Since I am very picky about drummers, I want to hang onto him. We want to form a blues/rock band and recruit a guitarist and singer, possibly a guitarist/singer, but are finding it hard to recruit. Bad enough being a startup, but when you need two pieces of the jigsaw people don’t take you seriously. Jam sessions etc haven’t started round here yet, so no chance of getting someone off the back of that. Any hints, tips or advice gratefully received!
  15. Pshaw! Who looks at titles...?😬
  16. Where are you, apart from Uranus?😂
  17. Damn good price sir! I swear by mine - good luck with the sale, they should snap your hand off
  18. Bought a book from me in a seamless and pleasurable transaction. Deal with confidence 👍
  19. This is a classic folk-rich history, just published. New, mint condition. The cover price £18.99 Yours for £9.50 plus postage!
  20. SOLD Fantastic just-published autobiography from RT. Autographed by the man himself on a stuck-down Post It note (well, he lives in the States!) Very readable, unlike many such tomes. Retails at £20 - yours half price plus £2 towards postage. History has never been so much fun…
  21. I did put a comment in (deleted?) that transitioning to originals can cause the writers to get a bit up themselves. It would certainly change the balance of power in some people’s eyes. I know we’re not talking about recording/releasing, but the Zombies weathered an early crisis when singer Colin Blunstone took the bus to the studio to see songwriter Rod Argent parking his Aston Martin...(car may differ) 😬
