  1. As a final wrap to this thread, we could not find any live music on the Saturday night at all. That said, there was plenty of goings-on in the street, most of which I cannot repeat for fear of offending decency... Sunday was a ska/punk all dayer at the Lady Luck which we observed from outside ... ‘‘twas heaving. Then went to the Turkish restaurant which lived up to recommendation. The Bishops Finger was ok, despite the dreaded big screen football. Monday night, after seafood at Chapmans, the Black Griffin advertised live music. It was a blues band called Blue Onions who were captained by an ex Basschat member. (The Barefaced/Marusczyk combination was a dead giveaway.) He didn’t give his name, sadly, but his band were better than average and rounded off our long weekend well. Thanks again to those who contributed to this thread.
  2. Have a good one, my friend and BC legend. And thanks for the gen. Had I bought a bass from you, I’d have to make out it was a present for the missus. Last time I tried that was a Telecaster from @bobpalt which ended up being sold to fund a video camera... Wives and musical gear do not mix!!!😥
  3. A final plea for any inside knowledge. Thanks to all who have helped so far!
  4. Wish you the best of luck..Back in 1981 I slept on Waterloo Station in a suit! Had attended a wedding that day and went to the LSE to see Squeeze and the Distractions... both great. But missed the last train home. Take a notice saying ‘sorry no spare change or cigarettes’ if you want to get any sleep...😆
  5. As the owner of a Fender Jazz who is lusting after this, why would you want to change (if that’s not a rude question)?
  6. There used to be another thread under Mickeyboro (subtle spelling difference) which has now been amalgamated with this. Hence post below. Happy days!😁
  7. I remember you! Good to see you again!
  8. We are both in our second childhood Chris, so anything old and/or rootsy tends to float our boat. Ironically given some of the kind recommendations above we eat much anything bar pizza and pasta! Oh, and if you’re selling any basses let me know and i’ll stop by 😂
  9. Off for a long weekend to celebrate Mrs Boro’s birthday. Any recommendations as to where music, food etc may be partaken would be very much appreciated! So far we have Tears for Fears playing at a cricket ground, which doesn’t bowl the maiden over... so stumped! Thank you.
  10. We just did business and he was absolutely on the money. Model Basschatter.
  11. Just done business with this fella and it was smooth as. A credit to the BC community...
  12. You’re quite right Hooky... ta. But this is, despite my dumbness, sold!
  13. New and unused as per title. Price includes UK postage. SOLD
  14. Having traveled fairly extensively I found that folk Down Under were very generous in letting me participate (even having to borrow a bass) while in the US you were rarely even called. Exception was Hawaii, where I had a warm welcome and was called first!
  15. From ToP to Tourists! So what next? Uriah Heep to UB40?😂
  16. Fair do’s. I have to say I had a soft spot for the Tourists! Something Annie Lennox would rather not remember.
  17. But if they’d played to backing tracks would you have been happy? Interesting question... i have tended to enjoy bands who improvise, hence you get a different show every time - well, to an extent.
  18. Thanks. As it happens I was due to go to the ToP gig but was diverted by Robert Plant playing a secret gig in a small theatre up the road... and he had no bass player whatsoever!
  19. So did the bass player show up for the Albert Hall?
