Like this a lot! Did you finish the album?

Today I've destroyed the tip of my left middle finger.

I slammed my left hand index finger in a car door before a gig six years ago. Nothing like as bad, but never got the full feeling back. Hasn’t affected my playing. Good luck Jack! -
Weather held off = no jacket required?😂
-
Assume you're Fine Lines, Jimmy. What kind of music and when are you on? I have friends I can notify.

Did she look back in anger?😂 -
Saw Gladys Knight a few weeks ago. A scant hour for £100-plus ticket price (fortunately I had freebies). She is 80, to be fair, but I can only remember attending one shorter gig in my life (Hall and Oates, since you ask).

I once saw the German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder singing along to this. And more. Bizarre! (Keir Starmer do not copy)😂

I think these last two responses are pretty close to the truth. Thanks to all of you who pitched in (see what I did there!)🙏

All blues standards (ie covers). I try to harmonise but his pitching is erratic. Could be part of the problem! I am tuneful (IMO) but no great character to my voice. Him vv.

Flea Jazz vibes…

I met Hugh twice, Piers. Coincidentally his Knebworth appearance was 50 years ago yesterday. Headliners over SAHB - who stole the show, i was there - were the Doobie Bros and Allman Bros. And yes, I quizzed him about it to little avail, too! 😁 Lovely man. EDIT: SAHB is the Sensational Alex Harvey Band for those under 60!

That is indeed nutty…

No, just someone who does what he wants (which is, nearly always, sing songs exactly the way he has always done). Anything I’ve added has been, IMO of course, in an effort to progress. 🙄

I’d happily send you my Linda McCartney files …

Does this count as a gender reveal?😂

So, if you do them how much latitude are you allowed? I have, out of the blue, received an email from our lead singer basically telling me he is ‘happy’ for me to contribute backing vocals to one song, but would prefer me not to contribute to others (unspecified) as he has ‘sung them that way for the past x years’ and presumably doesn’t like what I add. Apart from being incandescent that he didn’t say anything face to face, I wonder whose decision it is - his or the band’s? I have suggested vocal rehearsals but he has never taken me up on it. I know you have no idea of the quality or appropriateness of what I’m singing, but I do several lead vocals in the set so can’t be tuneless. It’s more the principle of the thing I struggle to deal with. Are they his songs or ours?

Blurb below, but this is a classic debut album, remastered on double vinyl and with lots of bonus content. RRP £28.99, yours for £18 posted UK. Still sealed, factory fresh! Now £16. Now £12 Twice Removed From Yesterday is Robin Trower's first solo album after leaving Procol Harum in 1971 and hooking up with Frankie Miller in the band Jude. Featuring ex-Stone The Crows bassist/ vocalist James Dewar and Reg Isidore on drums, it was originally released in March 1973 and heralded the beginning of this legendary power trio, paving the way for Robin to be the deserved guitar hero that he is. A mix of hard bluesy rock, the album contains nuggets of genius throughout, none more so than on the title track, I Can't Wait Much Longer, and Daydream amongst others. This new deluxe version is housed in a gatefold sleeve and is remastered for 2023. It features 3 unreleased versions of album tracks, the B side of the "Man Of The World" single (Take A Fast Train) and 4 BBC John Peel sessions.

Probably also depends if its the icing on the cake or the cake itself! From what I saw, New Orleans bands do an hour tops and then move on to another bar, another audience.

You are the expert Daryl! 🙏 I was thinking of Nashville and New Orleans where there are bands who I was told get tips only. In NO I learned the importance of the bass solo in the penultimate song - it let the guitarist circulate with the tips jar!😂
