1. Having both retired, my wife and I insured our car for social use only. Now I have joined a band that does regular (30+) local gigs a year, she is worried I would not be covered if I had an accident going to or from a gig. I get the feeling when the word 'musician' is mentioned the price will soar. Anyone gone through this, and is there a way to minimise the likely financial damage? Thanks!
2. Fair play to you mate!
3. I want to digitise some old 'demo tape' cassettes before they fall apart. I use a Mac - is there a piece of kit that's worked for you and is worth me shelling out for? Thanks!
4. I have one of these and it is truly fantastic- don't hesitate if you fancy a dabble, this will hold its value. GLWTS
5. Whatcha got now Jim? I use an Aguilar TH500 with my SC and never have trouble being heard. These plus bass and bag mean one trip to the car... unlikely to buy another cab, no need.
6. Anagram of Bono = O Nob Anagram of Poldark = Old Krap I rest my (bass) case..
7. Never mind the bass, where do I get the Pacamac?
8. Road worn?😬
9. You'll learn a lot here, Ian. I certainly have. Welcome to the club...
10.
Other band's T shirts ?? Never , never , never. Regularly I change out of one into something else to play. The punters wear band T shirts - the moment you step on a stage you're an artist , not a punter.
Couldn't agree more Doc!
11. Gosh! I have a 71 similar. Lovely!

14.
The Great Gig In The Sky' left not a single dry eye in the house.
That was kinda funny, as all three backing singers had a go at it in turn. It was a multiple orgasm, I guess😲👏
15. The best 'staged' show I can remember ever seeing in 45 years of concert-going. But only 'Arnold Layne really got me jumping in my seat. Floyd didnt do emotion....so this was all scarily realistic!
16.
I use a Tonehammer amp into my BF cabs and it works really well.
Me too!
17. A tribute act I would travel to see!

23. My son is putting on an evening of entertainment to drum up funds for his London Marathon entry on behalf of Worldwide Cancer Research. It's in Leytonstone, London E11 on Saturday 20 January 2018. It's a re-run of one we staged five years ago for my late first wife, who said: 'Don't give me a wake, have a party and enjoy yourselves'. We made £2k for Macmillan. My band played at that, but I can't get them back together to do this one. Essentially there'll be 130 people from 30s-50s in a pub function room all up for a good time. Fee tbc, but obviously want to minimise as it will come out of the charity 'pot'. Logical, therefore, for me to look for a local band that has some affinity with the cause. Music should probably be cross-the-board pub/party crowdpleasers. Any advice or offers, please PM me. I know anything labelled 'charity' causes controversy, but I'd appreciate not using this thread for that particular debate. TBH I would love to play this, but as I said distance and a moody guitarist make it impossible. Thanks for reading... Mick
24.
You read your Pm's from me yet, young Michael...?
Yes my friend but as usual struggling to follow whats going on!
