1. Yorks 5Stringer is your man. Saw him playing one a couple of weeks ago...
2. There's a Bass Collection Jazz on sale in this very forum ...
3. The more his Vocals became intelligible, the less interesting they became. Radio Free Europe? Hell yeah!
4. Bill may have been a member but they didn't treat him too well...
5. Yes, he and his former band - recently defunct - are so underrated!
6. The perfect seller, what can I say? Gear was like new. deal with confidence.
7. I wrote a book on him once. I had told the publisher I fancied writing about Cat Stevens... it didn't sell! 😢
8. Would love the Who Jack Bruce and Santana please. Mick
9. Fame studios is in the middle of a shopping plaza - seems quite surreal. And Muscle Shoals Sound Studios is in a trading estate - dunno what I expected to see, but...
10. This is the most enjoyable track I have ever played live... the feeling of exhilaration once you nail it is worth the effort.
11. My EB-3L with flats sounds and plays in the Fraser ballpark - though of course from your original post Boz Burrell played an Ampeg (in the beginning) and JPJ a Jazz (ditto). That said, saw someone playing a Telecaster bass with mud bucker last week that sounded very Gibson-y.
12. We used to use kazoos instead of the horn section - it didn't work ;(
13. Seem to recall rating the original bass player - Mark Lickley (?)
14. He's got a bit of trouble and strife in his vineyard... http://www.sunderlandecho.com/whats-on/music/sting-saddened-and-distressed-by-reports-of-illegal-immigrants-working-on-his-luxury-estate-1-8183170
15. I think he should be jailed.. ...for calling his wine Message In A Bottle 😁
16. I played Sultans of Swing 486 times with my last band - each time the set opener. Settled us down if nothing else, and everyone knows it.
17. 'Johnnie Wilder's Chicago Heatwave' were playing a college dance, mid Seventies. I had no idea who they were but, like Chic, they changed my view of 'disco-dance music' from something for the great unwashed to a musical phenomenon to be appreciated. RIP Rod.
18.
I have a friend who lives in Toronto and his Dad views the winter as a opportunity to do Canadian stuff outside even getting snowed in is seen as a bonus, My friend (His son ) and a lot of the young views it as a PITA.
My late first wife was in your friend's camp - she married me to get away from it! My sister in law says there are two seasons in Canada - winter and construction... T-H, is there a link to your news item?
19. Went past it a few months ago. Morin Heights is the proverbial middle of nowhere - I can understand why some bands (e.g. Asia) went stir crazy and fell out with each other, especially when snowed in!
20. De doo doo DOO! (Well I would if I had the money…) GLWTS
