ihad an array attack for a while, it looked the business but never felt right and there was an oddness to the sound of the neck pickup, i dont think it was the pickup itself but more the positioning and the way it mixed with the bridge one. i really wanted to like it but overall i wasnt impressed, my cousin actually had 2 he loved the spalted maple array but felt the same as i did about the array attack (which he bought at the same time as me).

Bass player wanted for established classic new wave of british heavy metal band 'Slander' require a new member as i am leaving. They have been around for 15 years or so and are great players and great guys, im only leaving because i can no longer sustain bieng in 2 bands. there is a new album in the works, new management, an immanent re-issue of the classic 1991 debut album and my last gigs (or possibly your 1st) are in new jersey and Philadelphia, USA, so things are generally on the up. https://www.facebook...108078912580631 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fiE5qyfjl4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSM0WMNwNxo Please note it is the old singer on those recordings. they rehearse in the blackpool area. additionally the guitarist lives in lutterworth and travels up the M6 to blackpool to rehearse so a lift on the way would be possible too. any questions please ask.
Is it because they're not good for metal?
no they are great for metal, loads of great metal bassists use em, they just arent for me. -

in my honest opinion fender = uncomfortable, unbalanced and ugly (although they sometimes look great on someone else) they do have a nice sound though, each to their own, i suppose. :^) -
barefaced s12t and TC RH750, no pa required, obscenely loud, i have never had it past about 10:45 on the master and i like to be LOUD! even when there is a decent rig its sometimes better just to let the cab do the work and not bother with a DI out (Depending on the room of course)
-
that finish is a thing of beauty.

the digitech GNX4 is a fx board with a full set of bass amps, cabs and effects as well as guitar fx it has a looper, mp3 playback and an 8 track hands free recorder built in, it also has a DBX mic preamp and 4in 4 out audio interface included too :^) they were pretty expensive brand new but still sound great now and are far better sound quality than most current modeling units. they are so good i have 2 :^) and go for little money used on ebay.

its a lovely lookin thing in my opinion :^)

i tried one not too long ago, it was fantastic and those nordstrand big singles have some real power too, great basses.......however i felt the sr600 although didnt sound quite as good felt exactly the same to play, in fact it had a touch better action and was around £400 less. (not as pretty though)

Mmmmm ill be keeping an eye on this thread :^) I dont understand why there are so few current dual p equipped basses in production, its just mad.

best cheap ish P/J bass http://www.pmtonline...r-in-black.html a real bargain, i tried one recently and it sounded great, and had lovely low action too i thought it was a bargain at £359 but its even cheaper now. - looks better in blue though. you gotta love those seymour duncan 1/4 pickups for big output :^)
-
You mean like this? Interesting...
yeah, i heard one of those, thay sound epic, even though the pickups are the wrong way round :^) Lee Sklar is the man though his is bang on!
-
live dangerously, who needs a backup anyway, if you are happy with you main axe and service it now and again you shouldnt need anything else:^)
-
there are a load of p/j's out there, i was always a j/j bass man for years then eventually i got a p/j, i never play j/j basses anymore. however as stated before there are many p/j basses that are very unbalanced tonally, so i like to think of them as a p bass with a little something extra that you can add if desired. i recently tried a couple of p/p basses , big sound very balanced, with loads of tonal options, try one if you can im officially converted, my new custom bass will have p/p pickups and a piezo bridge and iv got a feeling all my other basses will be for sale shortly after i recieve it.
