1.
Went with Aguilar in the end (after hearing different set ups at the Northern Bass Bash) and haven't looked back.
i have been curious about aguilar stuff too, i love the onboard preamps, which did you go for?
2.
I have one (mk I). Its pretty great.
yeah i have heard a lot about them, from what i have read i reckon a mk 1 is gonna do what i want perfectly, iv gotta try one out sooner or later :^)
3.
Hmmm.... bring it too a bass bash?
now theres an idea
4.
Buy from thomann, profile, "Don't like it, would like to return".
This has crossed my mind, but i would have to sell the RH750 to fund such a scheme and i dont like the idea of putting all my eggs in one basket. plus it doesnt seem right somehow.
5. yeah i have downloaded it but not tried it yet, there are some good bass profiles available but not many. and less that i would use live. i love the HD350 though, great amp i have been thinking about using my kemper live but i would prefere to have some more bass profiles first ideally i would love a couple of great aguilar, ebs and mesa (400+) profiles, oh and maybe a sadowsky SA200 and i would be very happy indeed :^)
6. I dont really know why as i am happy with my rig but im feeling the urge to try out an EBS Fafner or Fafner II. i would love to A/B one with my RH750 through my Barefaced S12T. it may be just GAS but does anyone know where the might be one in a shop to try in the north west area? i have dona a quick internet search and it comes up with nothing even close to local. i would be happy to make a day out of it though. cheers! :^)
7. hello all, Are the any graphics/artwork/logo designer types on here? im looking for a logo/lettering style for my band 'Winterfire' i have my debut album approx 90% finished and secured the talents of the the fantastic JonasDeRo to do an awesome piece of artwork for the cd cover. (attached below) i have spent some time experimenting with text/font designs but i think i need an outside perspective. im after something that will work in colour and grayscale formats and that will stand alone as well as work on the artwork below. ideally a logo that is more than just text and that suits the band style (melodic/classic metal with a touch of prog and thrash thrown in) if there is anyone interested who thinks they can come up with something suitable please get in touch. Obviously im happy to negotiate the fee based on the work required. The artwork is a landscape and will cover 3x cd panels,(folded digipack) so the lettering/logo must fit on the centre panel. A larger hi res version of the artwork can be suppied to anyone interested Additionally if anyone has suggestions for someone suited to this work i would be greatfull for any contacts. Many thanks!
8. +1 for barefaced super 12 Epic cab for metal, you will really cut through the mix! also sounds great with most amps too.
9. if you want light and loud, barefaced could be the way to go, i used to have a BIG SWR rig with a Goliath 3 4x10 and a big ben 1x18, i now use a barefaced super 12t, its just as loud (if not louder) is capable of more bottom end but easily fits into the boot of my car and is a one hand lift, they arent the cheapest cabs about but if you need them to be loud, compact and light i personally dont think there is anything better out there at the moment.
10. he has an amazing voice, check out 'the magic of the wizards dream' by rhapsody, that really shows off his awesomeness, especially at the end :^) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z93SdirnzTw
11. well i cant speak for the GK but the TC can do all that with ease, thanks to an EQ with 4 sweepable centre frequencys, and an excellent onboard compressor. it is extremely handy having the 3 user memories too, for quick sound changes on stage. i love mine, although it did take a bit of tweaking to get my sound (just because of the flexibility of the EQ)
12. +1 for a Dingwall Afterburner - best 5 string iv ever played especially for the low notes:)
13. that would look awesome in the 'autumn sky' finish
14.
Spyro the Dragon
you hit the nail on the head there!
15. Reaper treats midi and audio in the same way. You can have any track type in any position. If its not where you want it just move it. If you add a new track it usually puts it below the currently selected track so it will move all those below it down which i assume is why it is staying at the bottom and not at the track 17 position.
16. check your speaker cable, i have bought new before only to find out it has a bad connection or even connected the wires the wrong poles on a 4 pole speakon. also i have come across faulty speakon plugs that dont fully lock into place.
17. my rh750 can do ampeg style tones with a little tweaking, great amp overall although the EQ takes a little getting used to.
18.
it's hardly 1 trip from the car portable though is it?
fair comment, it depends who is carrying it, its light enough but would be a little unwieldy, remember it is full of valvey goodness
19. peavey vb3, pricey but lightweight and all valve, its the best thing i have heard througha s12t. or one of those new lightweight all valve mesa boogies, i would love to try one of those out but i dont think they are available yet.
20. i think i want this too....... hmmmm, thinking now...... must resist urge to but something ill rarely use. someone else buy it quick!!!
21. Deus miseratur ( i think thats how you spell it) by paradise lost. Very dark and atmospheric with a classical feel and crazy sweeping piano parts.
22. I play in a melodic metal band, we are recording at the moment for an album. There are some work in progress samples here for anyone into that kind of thing www.soundcloud.com/winterfire Any vocals on there are just a guide at the mo but it gives you an idea of what we are goin for. There seem to be some great metal bassists on here but im sure there are more in hiding...... Show yourselves in the name of METAL!
23.
Once I upgrade my desktop I'll drop you a line. It started crawling last time I used it, it's time to create a new beast (old computer is 9 years old)
cool anytime. A new computer is a glorious thing, happy shopping!
24.
God it is so tempting to download this track just so I can add some keyboard parts to it
Do it, it would be great to hear.
25. lucky sod!, i honestly dont think i could live without mine now, and im thinking about live use too............hmmmm, may need a pedalboard.
