I never leave mind in their cases - they're are all on stands as I like looking at them. And also easy access if I simply want to noodle for five minutes.

Cracking live albums but a bit meh in the studio
burno70 replied to Barking Spiders's topic in General Discussion
Wow - are we all old farts on BC? No albums within the last 25 years listed so far? Whilst I agree that Iron Maiden's Live After Death is a ferociously good live album - I love the studio versions of those songs too. -
MIJ Mustangs - was black/black/maple ever produced?

Wow - the black with a tort guard looks awesome! These basses are soooo good for the money. -
I love Deloused - great album. I was completely oblivious to the fact that it was Flea playing bass and amazed at his versatility once I found out. He really doesn't sound like RHCP Flea at all.

Dawsons Music - Warrington closing after 120 years
burno70 replied to visog's topic in General Discussion
Whilst I buy most of my music gear online, I have bought a fair amount of stuff from Dawsons Liverpool over the years and would miss them hugely if they closed. It's not just the cheaper online retailers which are putting the last nails in the high street coffin - it's also forums such as BC where we can look at reviews which help us decide on a bit of gear without the need of a hands on experience. It's just the way of the world these days. It's all about convenience - the internet has made us lazy. -
I've had both although sold off the Multi-comp long before getting the Spectracomp so couldn't do a side by side comparison. I would say though that the Spectracomp is the better pedal - I don't bother with the editor as there are plenty of cracking toneprints on there that cover just about anything you would normally want a comp to do - and it does it really well. I sold my Empess compressor and got the Spectracomp and didn't miss the Empress one bit. Both great pedals but Spectracomp would be my choice - more versatile - and so easy to use.

Mark bought my Boss CEB pedal. Immediate payment and easy to do business with.

It was a stock bass so I'm not sure about the radius. The string spacing is 19mm.

30" scale Finn with jazz pups. It'll be a bit of plain Jane compared with most of Alan's other works. I'll add the details to the build diary forum once I've got photo's of the woods etc. Apologies to the OP for the thread derailment there!

I've got a Marusz Elwood shorty. Looks like the one in your pic although the headstock is matched to the body. It really is an awesome bass. The fit and finish is excellent. Mine was shipped out with a high action - which they do as standard. But a modest turn of the truss road sorted it and it has a lovely low action now. The neck is a little thicker than I'd like - the width is fine but the stock model I have is very much in line with a precision rather than a jazz neck - although this is offset by the short scale neck. A surprise positive for me was the stock Marusz pick ups which are awesome. I bought the bass thinking I'd upgrade the pups to a more boutique brand but I love them. I actually prefer the tone to that of the Nordstrand big singles on my Ibanez - which I'm also a fan of. Although I use this bass every day, it was an experiment to see how I'd get on with short scales. As I'm now firmly in the short scale camp I have commissioned an ACG short scale and I will be moving my Marusz on in around four-five months time - should you want an Elwood shorty at a knock down price.

I think you should tune to what suits you best. The only reason I can think to detune the E to Drop D would be if you had a riff bouncing off the open low D string, then it would make sense.

I actually liked this one - which surprised me as I haven't particularly like her other solo type projects I've heard. Sounds Jeff Buckleyish to me.
