  1. I like the way you think!
  2. Nice! Bet it sounds as awesome as it looks! I still find myself hankering over the Trace tone I had (and loved) in the 90's. I should by an old TE amp or combo like this just to satisfy the urge - although it's difficult to justify when I don't really need another amp!
  3. I thought this was a trick question! I love TE amps (back in the day). Never used their cabs though.
  4. I sold my LB earlier in the year - and still miss it. Absolutely cracking amp. Phat is the word!
  5. As said above - if you are all happy with the direction the band is going then all's good. However it could be worth a discussion with the other band members to ensure everyone is happy with the band or if anyone fancy's a change. You never now, the remaining original band member might feel like a change himself.
  6. Nice swag which I'm sure Geddy fans would love to get their mitts on - but that price is eye-watering!
  7. Crazy price for a lovely bass. If I had the spare change I'd snag it even though I don't really need it!
  8. I use mine every day and get a perfect studio bass sound that's actually better than my amp - which isn't bad either! GLWTS!
  9. Ah, sad news. As mentioned above, it was the go to site for compressor reviews. I hope he passes the mantle on to someone else rather than lets it die.
  10. Awesome! He does make gorgeous instruments. I love the cocobolo body/headstock.
  11. Love Vulfpeck - thanks or posting.
  12. I think it's in B minor but would have check.
  13. Yup another for Elixers. Tried them for the first time when the came with my new Ibanez last year. Whilst they don't sound like new strings after a while - they don't sound dull and dead like other roundwounds, there's still plenty of life in them. I'll not use anything else now.
  14. I've got into jazz more and more over the last 5 or so years. Stems from Jaco - Weather Report. I love Some Kind of Blue - Miles Davies, it's awesome. Don't like the noisy/atonal/everyone is soloing genre, leaves me cold. Looking forward to listening to some of the artists posted on this thread so I kind find more that I like. Also, having a stab at a bass solo version of Take 5 (Dave Brubeck Quartet). Working on it for a couple of months now as it was above my technique level - but that's how you improve, right?
  15. Good thread! Strengths - solid technique, reliable, and I'm really good at coming up with my own riffs - which is handy as I've never been in a covers band. Weaknesses - Tone deaf. Would love to have pitch perfect hearing rather than having to ask '...erm, what key's this in? when jamming.
  16. Yup - I found this too. The BF cab revealed just how good my MB TA503 amp really was.
  17. I am gassing so much for one of these! Jealous!
  18. Vietnam is one of my fave songs of all time. Love Jimmy!
  19. I've quit a few bands over the years - for exactly the reasons listed elsewhere, musical differences/personality clashes/crap gigs and live performances. There is one which is a tad different; the singer became a born again Christian then used the band as a vehicle to preach from. It was like Creed II. As an atheist who feels that religion causes more trouble that it's worth this didn't sit well with me. Asked the singer not to bring religion into it but he refused. Unlike the other band members who were also atheist but preferred not to rock the boat (we were a cracking originals band who had begun to build up a following) I couldn't continue and quit. It was a great shame and it left me hugely frustrated at the time. Incidentally the singer, who is a lovely guy, has contacted be a couple of times since the band folded (well over 10 years ago), to ask if I would re-join as they are looking to get the original line up back together but I just have no appetite for it, despite the cool songs with bass lines I was very much proud of at the time.
  20. But your spelling has never been the same since
  21. That sticker takes off a couple of hundred quid from the asking price alone. The seller would do well to remove it - but then if the finish comes of with it, eesh!
  22. My Shuker Series 2 is my number one bass and has been for over 10 years. Although I would part with it - for another Shuker
  23. I bought one of these about 6 months ago and love it. I preferred this to the others I was looking at as it doesn't colour the tone and the EQ is excellent. it's a small stomp box compared some of the others too.
